More Bling from FABAIC
Here are three others I did during the jams for FABAIC. These are all about Marcela and the Bling Mask Class (no, I don't get a commission for pushing her class! I just loved it!)
I already posted the silver one, but the pro-photographer at FABAIC her a much better job on it than my little camera did.

Re: More Bling from FABAIC
They are so beautiful, I wonder if you could do a step by step. I can't figure out how to get all the silver, is it silver paint and then bling. If so what brand of paints. I love to use bling especially silver. I would take a class from you if I could, but we are pretty far from each other.
My daughter teaches ballroom dancing, and they have galas once in a while. I have been in love with your masks since I first saw the one on your website. I just can't make it look like yours. Hope you don't mind that I've tried.

Bling Masks Classes and More
You put all the background on first, THEN lay the jewel strands on, THEN details - like lining, and teardrops.
But, in your note, when you say SILVER, did you mean the jewels? or the paints? The silver paints I used to use were either Kryolan Aguacolor, or Mehron Mixing powders (I do not use the mixing powders close to the eyes). But, I recently tried the new Silly Farm FAB metallic silver. I think it will be my new favorite
If you mean the jewels, they are just scrapebooking jewels I organize before hand into little bags. I just lay a bit of skin safe adhesive onto the skin, and lay them on.
CLASSES: Love to have you take one from me. But, I only do them in Southern California, and sometimes at FABAIC. However!!! The, one who taught me is Marcela! She has a tour going again now. And if you liked my work, you will entralled with hers! I keep copies of her masks next to me at jams and struggle away trying to do it anywhere near as good as she does. Just so you know I am not JUST being self effacing, this is what the MASTER MURAD can do ...
Oh yeah, I am just a humble student. Look at that @#$%^& line work!!! :::sigh::: Something about 40 years of face painting, AND the fact that she is still today a very active paid painter for parties and events AND that she has no problem sitting in front of her TV for 100's - literally - of hours practicing those #$%^Y&U tear drops! I am proud of what I do, but !@#$%^&*$#@#$% that woman is good!!!
If she is not coming close to your area, see if you can get 5 or so people in your area to commit to her class. She just might offer to do one close to you )

Re: More Bling from FABAIC
Thanks for sharing Lily! I am still trying to master laying the colors down. Did learn lips from you at FABAIC and never paid attention to lips until FABAIC. BAby steps I know. Working on putting the colors on now. Do you use a base under your powders or do you use straight powders.
Thanks,
Laura Clark

Re: More Bling from FABAIC
I do powders BOTH ways. In all of the photos I have been posting this past month, there is a base of DXF (mostly), then a pressed powder over the top.

Re: More Bling from FABAIC
Laura Remember I learned about adding bling like that from Marcela.
I went way over the top in how I store it and how much I bought, but she is the Queen )

Re: More Bling from FABAIC
I know Marcela is the queen of the bling wish I could have taken her workshop too many good choices. Hopefully I will catch her next time. You are the one who inspired me with bling so thanks since I didn't get to her workshop if you hadn't been at jams using it I would have missed out. You really shared good ideas with all of us.

Re: More Bling from FABAIC
Lilly,
Thank you so much for sharing. I just found the thread again, and found your response. It's amazing how much there is to learn, and how much is shared here....
I am taking baby steps. Think I might just subscribe to FABA to watch Marcela.
For my purposes though your masks are just the ticket. I am inspired. Thanks for all the info. I hope to get to one of your classes...one day
Thanks again
Laurie
