Feeling the loss....
Well girls, since I start my new job as a studio manager at Lifetouch next week, I won't be doing very much face painting anymore. This is almost like a loss to me! I'm really feeling horrible about the whole thing. I'm thinking to myself, "Why can't I make that much at fp and not work so much?" but in our situation, it's a must with this area being SO depressed. SO--to go out with a bang, I'm going to the little league park across from our city park on Friday night, and since there's a ZILLION kids running around, I'm just gonna set up a little corner and paint. I'll need gas money for my first 2 weeks b4 I get a check, and this seems like a good idea. I was driving out of the park last week, and saw thos ZILLION kids running around at the little league across from me, and my mouth started to water!!! LOL
I'll still be around here from time to time, but I'm afraid I'll have to cut back and get in bed early. I love you all, and you've been the best friends I've never had!!! XOXOXOXO

Re: Feeling the loss....
I'm hoping you need to come around here - check things out and have a chat will make you keep coming back.
I know Shannon has a 40 hour a week day job and still finds time to look after her mum full time do theatrical work and face paint AND drop in here to give us all advice and see how we are going.
Anytime I start to feel like it's all abit much I remind myself of Shannon and how some people manage three time what I think I could, and it puts it all into perspective for me.
Sooooooo no excuses.... see you back here soon.

Aw, we'll MISS You Darlene! I'm excited about your new job and hoping you are richly blessed with it, and that you do find the spare time to drop in and say hello once in a while. It's been neat getting to know you!

Dagnabbit! Just when I was getting to know you... I already love you more than my luggage. I am happy that things are falling into place for you. Hope to see you at the "Dew Drop Inn," sometime. Hugs to you, my friend, and blessings in all you do
Re: Feeling the loss....
You can do it hun. I work 40 hours a week and I have a 5 year old. I still do face painting on the weekends. So, you can find the time. And.....it becomes extra money. So, use your work cheque for bills and living and face painting money for the fun stuff.....like paints, a vacation etc. It will all work out.
I could never face paint and not have a full time job.

Re: Feeling the loss....
photomomma6 sorry to hear that you are taking a FP break. As much as I love to paint I don't think that I could support my family on it at this time - for me it has always been a weekend job that I LOVE. I tell everyone that Monday - Friday I work in a cubical in front of a computer a the local college and that face painting is my weekend creative outlet. I don't know how I would survive without it.
For a while there my schedule was crazy - working 40 hrs full time, attending school, and picking up one or two fp gigs a month. (I slowed down when I was full time at work and school.) But like some of the painters above - the fp money that came in helped me to 1) buy more fp supplies, 2) have extra funds for family.
I wish you the best - but hope you won't quite completely. Huggs ~ Deanna
