Need some opinions

Ok, so I know a bunch of you have said that you like the wording of my fundraiser options before, while using your own percentages back to the cause. I am finally reaching a point with my business (after 2.5 yrs) where I am turning down paying gigs because I'm already booked for fundraiser stuff. While I don't mind doing it, I'm giving a lot in May (it's the most active month for my charity of choice, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, through the activities with my husband's work). I'm thinking about lowering the percentage I give back to the charities, but I still want it to be an enticing deal for them. Right now I give 50% of ppf back or take almost 50% off of my hourly rates... is 30% too little to give? 40%? ... I don't think I'd go lower than 30%, but????

Hi Perry! Don't feel bad, you too need to survive to make it! My price range STARTs at $100/hr close by or $120 to $125 for longer distances. For non profits (ANY) I give them a 20% discount, typically $80/hr. To help them out even further you can ask for tips and give back a percentage or receive donations that go to the organization to recoup their costs (thats what I do). For PPF, I will donate 10%-25% depending on how well I did.

That's a good idea to offer to ask for tips when they pay hourly... just need to make sure that people realize that you aren't working for just tips or you'll get asked to do just that by others LOL. I think I may go with 30%... it's already a huge drop from 50% ... it's not that I mind doing things for charity but I could literally FILL my calendar with all the requests to "donate my time" and even giving only SOME back, I'm still having to turn down some good paying stuff. The last few years, I was happy to be making at least half if it meant that I was making something, but supply and demand you know?

Perry I agree that 30% is good - it's what I plan to offer with my new rates.

I think it's pretty standard to give them 10%.

I know there are several charities that are not allowed to use fundraiser products or services that give less than 15 or 20%... so 30% I think works for me. Thanks for the feedback guys
