I'm lookin ahead...and I was thinking of a names. I have these in mind : delightful faces, delightful creations, amusing faces. This is harder than I thought I originally thought of, I was thinking of putting my name into it but there is a local face painter that uses her name( we have the same name) sooo I got feed back from u guys n decided my name in the mix is not a good idea. So I would love to hear back from u guys.

thanks for ur input barb this name game is so hard there are soo many names but everytime I look one up its taken, those are some of the few that I've googled and dont seem to be taken I hope Im doing this right I don't want to be set on a name and then have to change it. I like delightful faces 2

Geekophile: I don't really know, but what I did is googled the name n their was no hit so I assume no one has that name well no one with a website

@ Angie, Business cards....soon I hope I'm going to do one of these free websites until I'm more established. Going to a convetion in CT this up coming Jan (hope I learn a lot) and with a lots of practice hope to be up and running by March

You know if you don't wan to spend too much on your business cards check with your local UPS store. I was getting the basic cards from Vista Print whih 500 were around $30 plus shipping. I am getting ready to order customized double sided full color photo cards for $55 from UPS. They offered me a discount and a coupon to get them...worth a try...

Business cards from Vistaprint shouldn't be costing that much... Are you using their "free" sales links Terina? With a "free" promotion, all you'd pay is shipping on standard cards. I order glossy finish for mine, plus an uploaded custom design, and it's still less than $30.

Hhmmm. I checked the free ones and I am like the only person that doesn't seem to get a good deal from there. You can get the 25 free cards and then the shipping was like around $15 or so. So, I decided to pick a design that I actually liked and with the shipping and 500 it seemed like a better deal to me. But I am totally open to learning the vista print system. That did include the logo upload too of $5. I know some people get banners on there for dirt, but when I checked I could not find the same prices.

So, I would be open to learning how to get the glossy two sided for 500 for $30. How do I do that... is it listed under something specific like glossy two sided premium cards or something? Thanks!

The "free" deals are always sent via email, so you need to sign up for emails from them on their site. They send TONS of them, nearly every day which can be annoying, but it's worth it when you need to place an order. Click the link in the email to get the discount. They make their money from shipping costs and add-ons. Each email deal is slightly different, but most of them offer free biz cards (250), posters, t-shirts, flyers, lawn signs, etc etc. Occasionally you'll get an additional offer for discounted or free logo uploads, and even free shipping if your order is over a certain amount.

I just spent a total of $32.70 for 250 glossy biz cards with my design on them, 120 custom address labels with my own design/photo, a t-shirt with my logo and a lawn sign with my design. That included fees for a few design uploads, upgraded cards (glossy - $12.99), and a large lawn sign rather than small ($9.99 extra).

They don't offer this stuff on their website though, only if you sign up for email alerts.

I think - oooh that's a good deal and then I realize it's only for like 25 cards - upload an image - get double sided, premium glossy blah blah the next thing I know I'm up for like $70.00......... shipping to Australia is never good.
I think Vista print is good if you are happy to use their generics - but can get pricey if you want to use your own images...... I mean 1 pen or 1 sticky note pad for free.... who's gonna pay shipping on that? You can feel them sucking you in as you browse the site....lol

When picking out your cards at Vistaprint, there will be a page where you can choose glossy or matte. Matte is free, but I love the glossy cards. I never order 500 at a time so not sure what that would cost. I am betting it's $9.99 for 500, and then $25.98 for glossy, plus shipping if there isn't a shipping deal going on. So probably not as good a deal for 500.

Anyway, Vistaprint isn't for everyone and I am sure there are great alternatives out there, maybe even cheaper. I already have most of my stuff uploaded with them so I just keep using them out of habit and laziness.

I agree the deals are better in the emails -
but it still has the whole - you think it's free untill you load up what you want and before you know it your being slugged - deal going for it.
If you want a card with multiple images on it - or a brochure you need to pay mulitple upload image costs - if you took a premade template of what you wanted to a local printer they would charge you one upload/artwork charge - that's just one example of how vista print my not work for you if you have a design idea in mind.

Yeah you do have to be very careful. You definitely can't just sling free stuff in your cart, since it jacks the shipping way up. I go through everything with a fine-tooth comb before submitting my orders. LOL.

I make my own designs and add photos in and everything on my own computer, and then upload it as a single file, so there's only one upload charge. It would definitely not be cost effective to upload them all individually.

Vistaprint also offer free uploads occasionally. I have used them for my scrapbooking & Avon business & shipping to New Zealand isn't too bad when everything is "free" LOL.

The other thing I wanted to say to Ruth is for a free website I would get a blog from either blogspot.com or wordpress.com
