Re: What is the best red?
Well if that isn't the cutest little spidey I have ever seen! OMGoodness. How in the world did you get her (? I hope) to sit long enough?

Kitty, I absolutely love your cat too. Most of my relatives (van Voorn and van Huizen) hail from Bedum and Groningen. I am Canadian born but most of my siblings were born in Holland.

Yes its a she (although I was trying to make her look more 'boyish' so the boys don't think its a girls design )
She not too bad at sitting still, as long as she has everything the way she wants it. It takes a little while to paint her as she is always changing her mind as to where she sits and the order she wants things in (I want lipstick..... I want lipstick now!)
Re: What is the best red?
The end result is so worth the stop for lipstick! ;D
Unfortunately for us, my girl (13) has developed an allergy to Snaz and the reaction was severe enough that I don't want to risk another brand just in case. The poor kid had a clear outline of the entire painted area all red and inflamed for several days. It wasn't hard to tell what I had painted, that's for sure. I miss having a real model and am now resorting to the neighbor's kids but setting up mutually convenient times is a struggle. Oh well...at least I have occasional models who will let me paint them.
Thank you for sharing your work to help me out!

Re: What is the best red?
if it was red specifically that was a problem, it could be the red dye that is in it... many kids have allergies to red food colourings and similar things are used in the face paints... another brand probably wouldn't solve that particular problem.
Re: What is the best red?
Nope, it was the school colors...black (TAG) and green (Snaz). The whole thing was raw, rashed and swollen including the nose which was black only. Weird because she has never reacted before, but she is hormonal and has tons of allergies. It could be a hormonal thing or it could be a new allergy so I'm not taking any chances much to her dismay.

Re: What is the best red?
I had an incident where a mother told me her child was allergic to methyl paraben, and she wanted to know if it it was in the face paints. Thanks to FPF, I was informed and was able to tell her that it was. Snazaroo apparently has a high concentration of it - that is what gives it antifungal and antibacterial properties.
Perry, I love your Spiderman, it is the most classic I've seen and the line spacing is perfect. Do you ever do it as a mask/half-face, or do you only do full face? I am trying to come up with a mask one that I love, because I want to offer the option of leaving the mouth area unpainted. I am so glad to see so many different ones in this thread, thanks everyone!

Re: What is the best red?
I don't do a mask, although I have done the torn version from the movie, it leaves the mouth uncovered ... this is an OLD picture, but...

Thanks, I live all the way in the south. Near Belgium and on the other side Germany.
You lived long in the Netherlands?
Re: What is the best red?
On small children I like to use Paradise Metallic Red(Hot Rod Red) for Spidey. It washes off well & gives a cool metallic shimmer they love.
Re: What is the best red?
Hi Gr8ful.. I also love th paradise beach berry red...perfect colour and easy wash off... TAG is too high in pigment to use for full faces..I did'nt know this and bought aa 9og red....argh..but I now use paradise,, red and green for masks etc... Tag is still gr8 but sometimes we have to find that perfect mix..
Re: What is the best red?
Thanks! I have to admit that I really like the final results from the shimmers too. Maybe I will add a few to my kit before I completely run out of money..rofl. A monster is being created as we speak. I am over the top addicted now that I have discovered a whole new world of facepainting.

Never heard of fat max except a few references to one here. I will google it. If it keeps everything together neatly I will find a way to get one!
