80's type makeup/face paint
To lure more teens to my booth, I have been considering offering 80ish face makeup. Something in the area of Jem and the holograms, Purple rain, cyndi lauper, heartish..
Has anyone here implemented something similar to that with the facepainting?

80's make-up? Nope. Lived through it and survived.
I have a collection of Vogue mags from 1980 on for "reference" for theatre and film work. Bushy eyebrows and too much blush are the defining "looks"... And big hair.
Are teens into that look now?

Re: 80's type makeup/face paint
It's been hot here for a couple years, but it's starting to be more the interpretation of the 80's.
I painted a couple young teens on halloween at the place we met to trick or treat. They asked for 80's makeup, they weren't really dressed up, more like in their normal 80ish wear. Of course I love it, I am an 80's child.
I was thinking something along these lines.

Along the line of Jem, I found a spikey above the eye design with stars below the eye, some swirls and dots, I call it the rock star and tweens to teen love it. At a recent soup festival I think I painted at least 10 of them.

It think it's a great idea. I have a few crazy eye designs that I offer, and they are quite popular. My rockstar design has stars too (I guess they are just rockstar-y). I also offer "zebra eyes," a "zipper eye," and the ever popular lightning eye inspired by lady gaga.

Ah... Lady Gaga...
Actually I'd call most of those designs "Glam Rock"but I guess that's because I'm old. Although the hair in that first photo is defo 80s!!

Nice! I think those will be well loved. I've usually just done something called "eye art" with is that kind of make up coloring with swirls, bit and bobs to make it look super pretty. Its huuuuuuuuuge with a wide range of women, from little girls to grandmas.
I think you'll do well! Love the crazy color make up!

I do lots of eye designs too...not really 80's per say but they do great with older girls. good luck sounds fun!
Re: 80's type makeup/face paint
The term glam rock turned up exactly what i was looking for in the image search.....Shannon, thank you so much. I always think of the male 80's bands that wear the liner and hot pink lipstick when i hear that term...haha[img][/img]
