HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
I need Shamrock glitter tattoo stencils like TOMORROW. I tried ordering from Silly Farm but they just called to tell me they are out of stock. I'm trying to find someone that has them and can overnight them to me... looking for a decent size shamrock, and I need around 100 of them if possible. If anyone has any ideas let me know! THANKS!
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Got to the craft store and carve a stencil with an exacto knife! (ensure all corners are softened) A stencil blank should work. I've used thin foam before as well!
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
In a pinch you can make your own stencils out of contact paper. Not the best, but it'll do.

Mark from Faketoos.com may be able to do it.

Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Hmmmm.... Psalmbook, that's actually not a bad idea. I have a Cricut at work so I can go get some contact paper and just cut a bunch of them. There's a local guy I can buy glitter from too.... that would save me about $65-85 in shipping charges, and honestly, will drunk people notice if they're not perfect? I'll run and get some contact paper at lunch and try it out tonight. It can't hurt to at least try right?
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Glad to help. The other options, Linda Adams & Mark are great too, but since your on such a time crunch...
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Contact paper sucks really bad. But the Cricut transfer paper and their stencil paper. Use a coupon for Joanns or Michaels. I make them with my Cricut.
I used the contact paper and it is way too thin. Make sure you set the Cricut blade to 2 when using the Cricut adhesive paper. It is thin as well but way better then the contact.
I would do it for you and Purolate but I assume you need them by NOW!
It is Tuesday already.
Let me know if you need help.
Message me if you do.

Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
You can freehand shamrocks. It would be quicker and probably look just as good, since a shamrock is relatively simple.
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
I would just freehand them as well.. it's just three hearts with their points touching and a stem!
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
I also vote for free handing it....really easy! and yes, if they are drunk they wont notice minor imperfections
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Thank you guys for all your suggestions!
OK, so I decided to try to make my own tonight. I found out we have adhesive backed vinyl and a cricut machine at work, so I think for simple shamrocks I can make them and be fine. I did a little test where I just hand cut a quick heart out of the vinyl and did a tat with it, and it worked just fine. My next issue is that I only have about 1 1/2 little bottles of adhesive and one small container of dark green glitter! I have a huge container of light green glitter, so I can always use that even if it doesn't show up as nice. I guess I'll just be doing tats until I run out of adhesive! At least it's costing me $0 for extra supplies!!
LOL... what a mess this is! Nothing is ever easy.

Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Well at least you know you have a back up plan of freehanding them if the contact paper doesn't completely work. As far as the glitter. Try adding some of the light green into the dark. It will still appear dark green but with a little more depth to it with the light green undertones. Add a little at a time til you get it to where you like it. This way it will stretch your supply more. Or you could even think of doing the tats in a gradient going from white/silver, to lt. green, to dk. green which would look really nice.
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
And you can add a tad bit of water to the adhesive. The tats will not last as long but most people will want them off by the next day anyways. Not too much water. Just a drop at a time and shake really well.
I agree in mixing the dark green, light green and silver into a large batch. Apply with a brush instead of a poofer bottle. Less waste.
Are you being paid to apply all of these tattoos?
If so, it is all profit. (Mostly)
Good for you.
Post piccies when you can.

Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
You can even free hand a beer mug. Cover with gold glitter add a few black lined in the glass and some irridescent for the froth/bubbles.

Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Well I did it... thanks to my obsessive tendencies (and sheer stubbornness) I now have a ton of home made glitter tat stencils!! A HUGE thank you to Glitterfly for being my stencil mentor today... you were SO helpful!!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Here are the results (before I cut them all up):
And they even work!!!
I made 100 plain shamrocks, 24 triple shamrocks, 9 horseshoe shamrocks and 8 flaming shamrocks. (cause I wanted to try something a little more fancy) The great part is, besides about 4 hours of my day, this only ended up costing me about $9! I had all the materials except for the clear transfer sticker so that's all I had to buy! Now cross your fingers for me that the drunkards think they're cool and have no problem dishing out $5 for one. I'd like to be able to say I made a boatload of cash on them so it was worth the time (and stress!).
Thanks for all your help today guys! It was much appreciated!

Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
You just saved yourself a ton of money! I'm so jealous!! Best of luck to you with the glitter tat sales.
Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
You are more then welcome. They look great.
Good luck and keep usposted on the sales. I am curious how many drunkards would like a glitter tattoo. Future research. hehe

So, how in the heck did you make them??
They look great!

Re: HELP! Need Shamrock Glitter Tattoos ASAP!
Boy am I glad I didn't spend all the money on stencils and extra glue and glitter that I was planning on spending! I sold a whopping 5 glitter tats all day!!! (3 of which were applied to girls boobs) It just goes to show you never know what people will want! Luckily lots of people wanted face painting though, so the day was a definite success.
SO... anyone need any shamrock glitter tattoo stencils???
Note: with making my own stencils I used the Provo Craft brand Cricut transfer tape for the top layer, and it was a pain in the butt to get off of the actual stencils. If I decided to make my own stencils again I will play with different materials for the top layer... maybe low tack contact paper?

HaHa! That's how it goes. I didn't do a glitter tatto all night, but painted a ton of Shamrock eye designs.

Really the transfer paper was too tacky? Hmmmm..........if you find something less tacky, pleae let me know. I have not had a problem yet. But, I usually only make one of a kind stencils with mine. I offer it to the birthday kiddies as a gift. Usually their name with whatever decorations or things they.
They were a big success with the kids. They were so excited that they received a one of a kind NAME tattoo.
