Okay, here's another one I did...I lost my Wacom pen when we moved, so this isn't exact, and was SO hard to do with a mouse! Anything can be written there, or changed...just a thought.'

I like scoop or V neck. Don't like crew necks either.

Shannon, a boat neck goes straight across the front of the neck, usually quite a wide opening with very little scoop... not my favourite style either. I often find my bra strap will show on one side or the other. Embarassed

Yep, I'll want one... Just think, we'll be able to recognize each other at events. Next thing is we'll have to work out a secret handshake.

and we can poll for the suggestions... although there were a lot of really great ones!

Post by Guest Tue Mar 08, 2011 11:02 pm

There was a company in the UK that had a T-shirt for face painters (the company is no longer in business.) I couldn't remember all the stuff that was on the t-shirt so asked on the UK chat...

It was a pretty long list...

Public Information about Professional Facepainting

YES this is my real job, not a hobby

NO I do not paint for free - this is how I earn my living

YES I am good/ fast - I do this A LOT

NO the paint isn't waterproof. Rain or tears do not mean you get free repaints.

YES the paint washes off - just use water / soap

NO the paint & I do not like working over snot, ice cream, ketchup, etc. Please remove. It will give you something to do in the queue anyway!! I mean, would you put your make-up on if you were covered in any of the above? No and neither do I.

NO; it won't last overnight - apart from on your pillow!

YES these paints are expensive - please don't touch them

YES Lifting children on the chair would kill my back by the end of today! Please be considerate

NO Please don’t leave your child whilst you nip to the bar/loo/phone/cafĂ© etc. I am a professional face artist - not a Nanny! Unaccompanied children may be eaten. Leave them at your own risk!

NO you can't help me paint to speed up the queue unless:
You have insurance,
You have Professional paints & your own brushes with you
Training
An Enhanced Disclosure certificate
Follow recommended Health & safety guidelines
You are a member of The Facepainting Association

NO I won't paint your child if I have closed my queue- I have to take a break/ leave. And I am just as capable of crying or wetting my pants as your child is.

NO adults will be painted without being accompanied by a responsible child.

NO - Encouraging your child to eat/drink whilst being painted is not conducive to a flawless design.

This happy, hard working, professional, kindly, public liability insured, non-smoking, tee-total (whilst working, but you can buy me one after) artist does take bookings for parties and promotions but not whilst working. You are very welcome to a business card and to telephone, write or email to discuss bookings, rates, other entertainment Monday-Friday, 9.30am – 9.00pm.

Some of the painters laminate it and put it on their displays! Wink

I'm also partial to the V-neck, but woudn't be opposed to the scoop neck either. I do however think Tash's idea of a poll is a great idea. Maybe since there are so many ideas we take the top 5 ideas and incorporate them? Idk, just a suggestion.

and thanks ChangingFaces! I've just been uber busy with school, and finally caught a break, so I decided to check in here! Missed this place soooo much!

And Shannon, LOVE that list, I laughed so hard at a few of them, I may add them to my 'Suggested Behavior' sign at my booth!

Maybe we could come up with a list similar to the one Shannon posted but more "American" sounding (IE: I had to think about what a loo was!). What do you think Matina? It's hard when you've got such an international group of people on here to make happy. Smile But I LOVE the list idea. Smile

I'm with 3/4 sleeves too!! I love the shirts I have with them... covers the turkey arms yet don't get in the paint!

My preference is for text only the shirts though... no artwork.

Well perhaps you could look to having two styles of shirts.... 1 for the warmer months and 1 for the cooler months. I know it gets hazy, hot, and humid here on the Jersey Shore, so I am feeling the short sleeve or tank top. I'd wear the 3/4 moreso in the fall.

i think a t-shirt is the way to go. there is no way i can wear a tank top and it gets really hot here in summer so wouldn't want long sleeve's. love all the idea's though. perhaps a black background with some bright coloured writing. no pic's though as i wouldn't want people to think it was my art work. also would prefer not to have the year so i can get a couple years out of it if i am lucky Smile .
anyway these are just my preferences.
