hello, I'm new on this forum
My account has just been activated and here is my first post. My name is Nancy and I'm from The Netherlands. When I was 20 or so, I did a workshop facepainting and I liked it very much, but because of study etc I didn't do anything with it.
Some months ago (more than 20 years later, aged 43 now) I got enthousiastic again when I did facepainting at my daughter's school. I bought some paint and started painting. On my search on internet I found this forum and have been reading, reading, reading, reading and admiring all the beautiful things here. The only problem for me with this forum is that I have no time left to paint . Because I like the way people communicate here I decided to join. Never done that before ever on any forum.
I'm not painting for a job, just hobby. I've two kids, a daughter aged 10 and a son aged 7. They both like to be painted, but only things they want to . Sometimes I paint their friends when they come to play and I paint at their school sometimes. I'm not that experienced like you.
I like your work so much and you inspired me so much allready. I hope I can be part of this forum.
I will try to find out how to put a picture next to my post. You will see when I succeed.
Excuse me for the mistakes, dutch is easier on me. I can't find many different words to express myself.

Hi Nancy
Welcome to the forum, I'm a little like you, getting to involved reading everything and not getting the burshes out as much as I like, hopefully we'll both get more painting done. Look forward to getting to know you!!

Re: hello, I'm new on this forum
Thank you all for your welcome! Feels good.
@Belle: looked at your gallery and laughed about the story about your son and the mirror. I once had my son painted very well (for my standards) and didn't take a picture right away. He got upset (by something I can't remember) and the only thing I could call was " don't cry, don't cry, I didn't take a picture yet!' Well, he only cried harder and smeared everything.
Me being a bad mother, only caring about the painting

Hi Nancy, welcome to the forum! Your flowers on the flower thread are beautiful. I am laughing so hard about the crying /painting situation, I think we all have been there LOL
BTW, your English looks perfect to me, but then again English is not my 1st language.

Welcome! I lived in Schiedam for 6 months and LOVED it there! Another 12+ years in Brussels, so very close by HUGS from PA!

Schiedam is close! And Brussels is another country but also very close. We have such small countries over here. Before you notice, one crosses a border. I must admit I had to google on PA Didn't know what it stands for, but wikipedia learnt me a lot. Hurray for the internet!
Thanls for your warm welcome!

I don't know if I have to warn you about my new avatar, but I think this the place where it should be. I finally painted something on my face that was not that bad it had to wash off immediate. I'm still not satisfied with the painting on myself results, but well... here it is my own face as avatar!

Thanks for the help on my thread! It is so exciting to have so many painters all in one place. I'm glad you decided to join. This is my first forum too.
