New to the forum

Hi, my name is Terina. I am from Knoxville, TN. I have been face painting for a couple of years. I am trying to grow our business and have found some really great ideas on this forum so, I wanted to join everyone so that I could learn the true tricks of the trade I have been trying to hit it really hard and get lots of gigs.

We are a home schooling family. I have two children, Hannah and Zion. I also teach art classes and performing arts locally at various schools. I love doing that. Our business is sort of a conglomerate of magic shows, balloons,and face painting. I dress up as characters. I really enjoy the kids. The face painting is really great for me. I want to make this a full time business for us. So, any tips and suggestions on how to do that is very much welcome.

I am having a bit of trouble getting my pics to upload in the gallery. Hopefully I can figure that out soon. I have enjoyed seeing everyone else's work. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I found this to be helpful too. The one problem I was having thought was, when I clicked on the word "copy" next to thumbnail it did not actually copy it. Strange I know but I think it has something to do with the differences between Vista, windows 2007 and XP. Anyway, instead of clicking "copy" I clicked inside the box next to thumbnail....where all of the jargin is, right clicked and hit copy that way. I was able to paste is into my main text box by right clicking again and hitting paste. So if this is where you are having a problem may be try that.

I haven't even read the posts I forwarded lol, but I know what you're talking about Deleena, I had the same problem.

I have Vista and now out of habit, I click on the copy button, then hit control c on my keyboard for good measure to copy the link to the pic.

Then I place my cursor in the text area of the message and hit control v to paste it.

Hello & welcome to the forum. I've been homeschooling for 14 yrs & have 5 kids(one in college, 3 in highschool & 1 in elementary). I used to teach art classes till the school I taught at closed(it was a not-for-profit that taught visual arts, drama, dance & music& closed at the beginning of the economy plunge That's when I really started face painting & have been doing it for 5 yrs.

Thanks guys, I will try to figure this picture thing out with your suggestions. I am just hitting the copy button and it is just not doing it for me. I am not a very techno-savvy gal. I am still working on learning photo shop.

And psalmbook, thanks for sharing your experience with me about the teaching and home schooling. I too work at a non profit school. The other schools are just a few classes weekly. I do not get paid all that great for what I teach. But I sure do like it. I especially like the art classes! We used to be in the housing market. We built larger two story homes and well...we all know how the housing market is.

So, I find great encouragement that you have been doing this for 5 years! That is great!.

As far as uploading pics goes, i think there are some issues at the moment with uploading to the gallery. A fair few of us are having problems, where we never did before. Uploading to threads like this seems fine though.

Well,I did try to upload again and no luck. But, it was a little late in the night and so now after ZZZZ'z I am going to attempt it again. It keeps saying that my file is too large or corrupted. But, my photo for the avatar did just fine and it was from the same set of pictures. So, I think I will attempt to be patient and see if I can't get it figured out today
