What to charge?
I was contacted over the weekend by an entertainment agency looking for a face painter to paint cat faces on a group of dancers. I am supposed to call the lady back this afternoon with my rates. But the thing is, I have no idea what to charge.
I am thinking that it would be better if I charged per face instead of by time, because they want the designs really detailed and all unique, but I am still not sure what prices I should tell them.
Have any of you guys ever done something like this? If so, what did you charge?

Re: What to charge?
I would say, charge your regular per hour rate (if you have one.) Just like you would charge for a party, belly paint, etc. The more complicated the designs, the more time you will spend, the more money you will make (and deserve.)
Re: What to charge?
you could go with hourly or you could say like $25 per person just so you don't have to guess at how long it will take you to do the extra details.
Re: What to charge?
if you are going to be painting dancers its probable because they have a show to do or taking pictures.. you will need to find out how many dancers there are and what time their performace is and try to go from there
Re: What to charge?
In March I may be doing 19 Geisha Faces & I'm charging $10 a face, but this is for one of my son's dance teachers & the dancers will be paying individually. I told them I'll need enough time & was told it was going to be the last performance. I'm not sure it'll work as they have other performances, are all men & will be sweating....
Re: What to charge?
This one is for a party that is going to be one and a half hours long. It's going to be rainforest themed. I was thinking about charging per dancer, but I am not sure how much to charge.
Re: What to charge?
I guess it depends on how many there are, how complicated the designs are and in turn how much time you have to spend.
