Black Light Birthday Parties
I recently found this one face painter's website, where he offered black light parties. I thought it was a great idea. He charged more than his traditional party, and brought black lights and a backdrop where they could take pictures.
The backdrop was black, with neon reactive decor on it. I think it is a fun idea, but I can't figure out the logistics of bringing the black lights.
Do any of you have stands you use for your black lights? I have one black light. It is the florescent tubing type that you can hang on a ceiling or wall. It wasn't too expensive, so I can see getting a few more of them, but I'm not sure what to do with them once I have them.

Hmmmmm, never though about offering that. Black light isn't something people usually have laying around their house and if you want a glow in the dark design you need the light. Not sure what I would use that you can log around.
I am doing my daughter's 11th b-day party and it is 80's style, I bought one black light bulb and painted her last night, she went "nuts" when she saw herself in the mirror How much are those black light tubes?
Thanks for the idea. I was just going to bring lamps to the basemen, this is so much better LOL

My husband used to have these long blacklights that looked kind of like this http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=84p&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1269&bih=865&q=black+lights&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=10133349375422561197&ei=o5tBTczLIoissAOkuJnBCg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CH8Q8wIwAA# I wish he still had them. You would need more then one per room though. They have blacklight lightbulbs you can buy so maybe you could get several of those and replace whatever lightbulbs are in the room?
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
Yeah, that is what I got at Walmart for $10.00. I figured if I got a few of them, I can mount them ...somehow... Ok, no idea.
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
Website is saying $20.00. But I remember getting it for $10. At least that is what I thought.
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
Well if you have your booth you could mount them to it. Maybe you could get stands like photo studios use to put their lights on.
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
I would get only a couple. I have 3 separate light switches for the basement, I don't have to have all the lights on. I can't spend $60 bucks on lights LOL I am on a quest now I'll be looking at lights tomorrow.
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
I've bought one of the regular light bulbs. These long florescents work a lot better.
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
Just saw them at Walmart today for 10 bucks, they have other kinds that come with a long lamp that you can attached to a wall or ceiling. they are also $10.
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
I think you can get compact flourescent type of bulbs in blackling, then get some light stand type things from the hardware store, or even the cheap ones with those big clips on them. Easier to travel.
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
So all this black light talk got me thinking about roller skating. And I thought it might be a good idea to approach the skating rink about offering my services as an extra for their birthday party packages. Good idea ???
Re: Black Light Birthday Parties
so, I bought 4 long light bulbs and 3 of the regular ones. The room is very dark so I was wondering if i need another source of light in the room, like a purple or blue light. Would the black light still work? Don't remember if they have any other light in the bowling parties.
