Re: step by step bird mask with feather wings
This is a photo from when I first started so please be nice, but is this the concept of what you are asking about?
Re: step by step bird mask with feather wings
I wish my "just started" photos looked that nice WM. Here's another sort of feathers, below. You may be looking for wispy feathers though?
Re: step by step bird mask with feather wings
Yeah, that's basically what I mean... mine just don't turn out as nice....
Re: step by step bird mask with feather wings
Daizy, I love it!!! LOVE love LOVE it!!!
But how do you do the feathers so they look like feathers?

Re: step by step bird mask with feather wings
this is the only bird looking mask I ever did so far...
Re: step by step bird mask with feather wings
Loving the birds ladies!
Don't know if this would help but here is a single feather I just did last week. I used a split cake, flat brush and a rake brush.

Just using a fine brush and lots and lots of quick short strokes.

OMGosh Linda, I just noticed your owl and it's staring at me, way too cool chica!
Re: step by step bird mask with feather wings
I used a split cake for the base. Pulled the pink from that to create the circle for the head. Simple Teardrops for the feathers. I think I am going to use this one for one of my Masquerade Masks. I have a big party I am painting for on Feb 12th.

Wow, I dit not see this thread earlier. Really like those designs!
Maggi, are you sure you didn't glue a real feather on your arm? Great shadowing also.
Linda, I was surprised by your owl. I tried something like that last week on my own face, but it was no succes. Yours is! The eyes on my eyelids were smeared (I have too much eyelid lol). How do you paint your eyes when they have to stay closed? I think I have to put the eyes higher, next try.

I keep them 1/2 closed while I paint & then wait for them to dry before once I'm done. It's not easy & I have success sometimes & not others when I paint my eyes.
