There are lots of masks on youtube. Just search masquerade masks. Some are done with just makeup like Mac but you get some great ideas.

I am painting for a masquerade party and these are the masks I have come up with so far. I use some sort of detailing around the mask to give it depth and it finishes it that little bit for me. Not to mention I have a few to paint and I don't have a lot of time. Hope they help.

The last one has no trim detailing. It was a lot of work and took me almost two hours as I had to colour in each diamond and then glitter them directly after I painted it so it would stick really well.

Very nice D. I'm wondering if anyone has worked painting masks for mardi gras for a business like a bar/restaurant or casino.

Actaully there are TONS of mardi gras masks in the New Year's Eve thread....I think that's why not many have answered on this one because there are so many over there they have already posted just a couple of weeks ago.....
I think if you scope that out, you'll be pleased with the results! I'm going to see if I can find it and I'll edit this post with the link!

FOUND IT!

I painted a krewe for a float last year as well as a group of about 8 women who were attending a parade. I don't set up as a vendor anymore since most people search out a spot on the route and park themselves, so there's no traffic flow.

Face Painting for Mardi Gras Empty Re: Face Painting for Mardi Gras

Great - was just searching for a thread like this!
I'm thinking of ways to market Mardi Gras mask painting. I have a friend with a hair salon, and I'm brainstorming with her about having a 'pregame' service special that night. I do face painting, she does hair to go with and she gets the traffic from those whom other wise would never be in her salon.

Any idea of what to charge for the FPing? I would think some masks would be more $$ than others - I've always found in my business that ppl love to 'shop' their options.
