What do you love?

I was sitting here thinking about what I love. My favourite colours? what do I love to paint? my favourite design? I don't know if I could come up with one definite answer. What do I love? Here are the sure things I know. I love the colour teal. To be honest, I really just love colour. All colours for their own purpose. I also love painting pregnant bellies. I love it so much when the baby moves and bumps my brush. It's like a little miracle, that small connection with new life. I also love painting flowers. No matter what type of flower you paint it's always beautiful. I love beautiful things.

So my question, what do you love?

i love the color teal also.. and I would have to say i love painting butterflies and masks..i have just fell in love with masks..and I am practicing on getting them done faster..l just love facepainting.

I love Bach Blue (which is a green-blue therefore in the range of teal! )

I love the challenge of coming up with a new design that requires planning and thought to get something to "fit" on a human face and to look right to the people looking at it.

I love the reaction my work gets from people, particularly when on stage at the theatre!

I am new so right now I kinda love it all. But my biggest love to paint is Masks. I have always loved then and now that I am somewhat ok at painting I love it even more. I also love painting the adults. The kids are great but I do se few adults it is so great to see some of the grown women light up like little kids with the face paint and the sparkles. Last I love the color purple but I havent found a purple paint I am in love with yet.

Is split cakes! Also lovingly refered to as rainbow cakes!!

I love colorful bases, big fat white teardrops and swirls at the edges, with black outlines.
I love simple designs on adorable children who are smiling like it's the best day ever.
I love blues, violets and purples together.
I love cheetah spots.
I love happy kids who know my name and run to hug me when they see me coming.
I love that the most, I think.

I love tigers and I love bright colours..and gold in combination with just about every colour!!

I love my fellow painters, there warmth and creativity makes me strive to be better at what I do, I love colour and how it changes an idea, I love brushes and how only people who are in the know understand how much you love your favourite and I love the fleeting nature of what we do.

Getting asked my favourite colour is frustrating for the person asking, because I can't choose! I love colours. I used to say I like all colours except brown - but I love it selectively! I do have a preference for bright, bold colours over pastels or dark shades, but they've all got their place.

I love perfectly spaced teardrops and when lines flow seamlessly.
I love designing and painting bellies.
I love notes/emails/calls from clients thanking me and singing praises
I love when someone GETS why people hire professionals.
I love nailing a design and seeing those amazing reactions!
I love split cakes and good brushes.
I love it when a child you've only known for 45 minutes tells you that they love you <3
(And I love that child at DeSerres who, upon seeing me, painted and sparkled up, gasped, "You're beautiful!")
I love this forum and the people and the abundance of knowledge!

I love face painting!!!!
My new favorite combos are... awe... I can't pick! I love making the same design different & special each time. I love the look a mask gets when it gets a light dusting of glitter(pearl white). I love when I find something new & original. I love when I force myself to use an ignored brush & find it to be my new love! Most of all I love the time with the kids(or adults) making them feel special & their reaction as they see themselves in the mirror. I LOVE MY JOB!!!!!!
I love my hubby who's an amazing support!

I love.love.love...did I say love, anything to do with face painting!! Brushes and colors and sparkles and just everything! I am always like a kid in a candy store! When I go to open my kit up my face just lights up! I have turned the den in my house into my "paint" room! I know I know it's cheesy but hey I guess that's just me! One more little thing I love is to see the face of a child when I show them what I have just painted on them and turned them into! Just like my sons face here!!

Everyone...I am truely inspired. I was smiling the whole time I was reading your responses. I want to add something to my list. I love that there is people in this world that are like me. You love what I love. Having a common ground is the best feeling. Like I'm not alone. There are people in the world that understand. And I LOVE that

I LOVE:
~handing the paintee the mirror and watching his/her face light up (or better yet hearing them say, "WOW! That's ME??" as they look in the mirror)
~making people feel at ease while I paint them (that is, if there's no line)
~in the way of designs: anything abstract or a free-form eye design
~Mehron gold and silver powders
~sharp black or white lines
~adding gems, jewels, and other embellishments (especially when painting a butterfly, using a gem for its head)
~a good challenge!

I also love that there are others that love what I love--face painting. I talk about it to others (family, friends, co-workers--their eyes glaze over--yeah,yeah, whatever), but here, common ground.

I also love the smile I get when the child I've painted sees themselves in the mirror for the first time. I have a friend who's little boy would not come near me, even the first time I was painting--until I did his birthday party. He wanted Thomas the Tank Engine and I practiced the cheek art just for him. He got it on his had, then put out his little cheek for me to paint it there too, then came to me on Halloween at the party I did and got it there. Now he runs up to me and says, "I love Peggy." Kids melt my heart.

I know most of you don't love cheek art, but I do. I like taking clip art or something like that and making it into a little cheek or arm design. Most kids ask for it here anyway instead of full faces.

I do love butterflies and flowers, and purple and pink.

I could go on and on but everyone really already said it all.

I love the childs reaction at the end!
I love the mini fans that follow me everywhere.

I love all things that sparkle, especially the sparkle in the childs eye when they look at themselves in the mirror.

I love travelling to workshops on the mainland ie: Melbourne & Sydney.
I love the buzz I feel whilst at the workshop, the energy amongst the group of painters that share the same passion as me is thrilling.
I love being possessed with all things to do with face painting.
There's not a minute out of any day that I don't think about face painting.
I too love the little fan club you have that see you time & again.
I love how people are so amazed when I tell them that I painted my own face.
Most of all I love that I found this forum my 'happy place' my 'home away from home.
