Re: Design "book"
Lone, I would love to see some Biblical characters....shepard, Mary, Joseph, wise men....those kind of things. thanks, your designs are awesome!
Re: Design "book"
I don't know if you are taking suggestions.......but if you could maybe do some nighttime scenes like city scapes or skylines or some celestial designs.
This is a really wonderful thing you are doing. It's because of you that I even attempted to do that wolf, and it came out awesome on the first try.
You are a wonderful talent.

Magna, thank you for the support, it means a lot =)
(Almost) two Bible pages, two pages with zodiac signs and one with celestial / night scenes are up now on http://lone-wolf.dk/designs.html. Not sure if this was what you had in mind, but at least I had fun making them.

Re: Design "book"
Wow, did you just come up with these in a day? I love the way your mind works
I can't wait to try these! Tusen hjertelig takk!!
I hope we all can support your talent with even just a little bit. You've been so generous to us with all your ideas and advice. I know I've learned a ton from you in the past year I've been with this forum. You have your own little directory on my 'idea' section of my computer for inspiration

Re: Design "book"
Except for the one with Jesus - I made that at an adult Christmas party (even though naked Santa's helpers was the most popular) - I made them all yesterday. The process is something like:
* General theme: Bible
Brainstorm ideas for what that can be, maybe with Google images as help, if I am not so familiar with the subject.
* Sub theme: Jonah and whale
I decide what I want to include (Jonah and some part of whale) and then imagine how it can look from different angels, like front and side (with him on top), inside where you can't see outside the whale. The design should not be to complicated and best work with the features of the face, especially the eyes since they are open most of the times. I think it look weird if you have a design where the is an eye in the middle of something - like a body or wing. So I try to avoid that. I normally don't put important details around the mouth, since that is often fast smeared with the children. If I can hide it with a line or make it part of the design, that is best.
If there is some part I an unsure about - like if the whale should be square or more rounded - I use Google images again and see what others have come up with. Often I end up combining different parts, so maybe whale shape from one, pose from another and colours from a third.
~ The design is sketched with pencil and fitted. With Jonah I had imagined having the whales eyes drawn on, but realised it would work better with the models eyes as whale eyes. I start with features that can't be moved, like a head that use the eye as eyes and then work out from that.
~ With a black pen the design is traced.
~ Pencil lines are erased.
~ Coloured pencils to fill in the shapes. I start with what I am sure about, so the tongue red, water splash blue, whale grey or blue - I decided on blue, since grey would be too boring. Jonah's head and hands skin coloured and last his clothing. First I had imagined it being red, but that would just blend with the tongue, so I ended with blue. That way I would not have to switch colour one more time.
~ Finished
(~ Scan, crop, maybe names added, resizing, adding to homepage and uploading)
It might seems like a lot, but it don't take so long. Maybe 15-30 minutes for each design, I would guess, but not sure.

More designs up:
16 farm animals, including my four most popular cows (when you can say that, you know you are living in a agricultural country *LOL*)
6 designs with dinosaurs.
+ one new Bible one.
Next will be dogs, owls, domestic cats, spiders, monkeys/apes, African or Australian/New Zealand animals in some order.

Re: Design "book"
OMG!!!! Lonewolf, I just saw that you're one of the new instructors for 2011 FABAIC!!!!! THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!
Re: Design "book"
Yes, really excited about that. I am having a pre class also about designing and hope there will be many interested to that too.
I have finished tree pages with dogs, need to scan them. Started on the owl, but there are so many! I had no idea, so need to sort them out a bit.

Re: Design "book"
Almost four pages with dogs, one with owls and one with domestic cats are up. The owls and cats was really difficult!
If you try any of the design, I would love to see =)

Love them, Lone Thanks so much for sharing your creativity process too!
On a few of them, if the kid sticks their tongues out it looks a penis.
It's what I would pretend my tongue was anyway...

OMG!!! You know I just went through every one of the designs just to check that out and..... That is funny!!!
Hmmmm? Did you reallize this Lonewolf?
Re: Design "book"
Yes, if they stick their tongue out, but normally they don't even do that what I paint a head around the mouth - so the mouth is the mouth - therefore it is not something I consider a problem.
And if someone figure out they can do it and find it fun, that is fine by me ;-)
