One tent wall done! Empty One tent wall done!

Post by Annette Tue Nov 30, 2010 8:24 pm

Hi,

I was inspired by Melissa and decided to try my hand at making at least one wall for my tent. I know I will be using it this summer.

I was able to hang it at the lousy craft show I did this past weekend.

It needs a little more pop. There is so much white, I know, but I got a really good deal on this canvas, I paid about $45.00 for a roll that was 60" x 6 yards and it was double primed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

YAAAAAAY!!!! cheers I SO love it!! I'm with Angie, the pirate riding a snake, cool!

I also agree with you tho, it does need something to bring it all together. I would suggest a border. You could go with a solid strip or band all the way around like a simple frame. Or your font reminds me of cat-in-the-hat. So a curvy or wavy line might be easier to pull off than a straight line. BUT, I personally think the straight line would be best. It would contrast the curvy flow coming out of the book, making it more pleasing to the eye. Another option would be the old style photo corners. You know the triangles in the corners? Just a few ideas to get the mind going. Something else you could do is check out scrapbook designs. It's all about framing the pick to make it look good. You might find something that works really well with your design.

Best of luck lady and awesome job!! Keep us updated!! Very Happy

I have to agree on the pirate! super cool!
I do agree tho that you have a lot of white there, I would add a background around the letters, maybe something like a ribbon.
in any case it looks awesome, you should be really proud of yourself!

It looks great!! I do agree with u that it needs a little pop, too much white how about a black or blue border around it?

I think it looks really great too! How about adding some shapes in the background like swirls, stars, and zig zags...sort of like a confetti look. It would add some color without detracting from your neat artwork.
