Foam Paint Brushes...

I have noticed Clash the Clown on her utube tutorials uses a foam paint brush, much like the kind found in the big lot hardware store paint department, and wanna know it those types are one in the same. She makes the rainbows and roses look so easy, is it a special brush?

I get mine from Michaels, right now they have like a box of 20 for $3... They are soft as well... some I have gotten in the past were a bit scratchy

I tried it once and it does apply well for one-stroke work. I found it a bit clumsy to use and hard to clean/store, so I still prefer the sharp edge of a Snaz half-sponge.

I like them for laying down full-face bases in one colour. I didn't have as much success with them for one-stroke designs.

I saw Clash using them also. I tried it & prefer the one-stroke brush.

I love them for one-stroke. I have found that the ones at walmart (sold individually) are softer and denser than others I've found. They are only 50 cents/ each in the hardware section where the paint brushes are. It's certainly worth trying for $.50, right?

I have some from the craft section of Walmart. I thought it would be super easy (watching Anna do it- Clashtheclown). I found that I had to modify it to make it work for me. I like how it picks up a good amount of paint & the width is good for many designs (sometimes 3/4" brush just isn't wide enough), but the plastic on the inside (which keeps it firm) just didn't close enough to the end of the foam. I had to cut off a substantial amount of the foam on the end (be careful because if you cut too far, it exposes the plastic). After cutting it, it was too square on the tip- so I had to cut an angle into it on both sides (not easy for me). It was a learning experience for me- but I can use it for some designs now. I kinda forget about it a lot though. I do use the dobber sponges a lot though (the round sponges on a stick). Oh those are GREAT!!! I use them to fill in the eyes with black or white on a lot of boy designs- they are perfect shaped (in my opinion).

I use lollypop sponge smoothie applicators.

I like the idea of the flat brush .... hhmmmmm.
