Giving Thanks & This time of the year Empty Giving Thanks & This time of the year

Post by Spectrum Fri Nov 19, 2010 8:37 pm

How amazing is this time of year, first we get to celebrate with friends and family at Thanksgiving to give thanks for all of the awesome things we have in our lives.

I feel blessed for my incredible career (I know many who are unemployed)
I feel blessed for my amazing family ( I know some who have no contact with theirs)
I feel blessed for my friends (some people may not have any)
I feel blessed for my health (some people are very sick)
I feel blessed for my salvation (some people are still lost)
I feel blessed I have no family that's deployed (some people have been)
I'm also thankful to have face painting as a cool hobby and to have made friends with some of you!

Then after we get to celebrate all of this, the following month we get to do it all again with Christmas. This is the best time of year for so many reasons. I give thanks daily but this time of year I'm even extra thankful.

I thought it would be cool to see what other people are thankful for if they wanted to share. Share what you are most thankful for Smile

I tried to come up with something different, but then I would have been lying. Yours really is the same as mine. I think a lot of people will feel the same way.

Maurs - best wishes as well for a speedy recovery!

I am thankful that there is a roof over our heads, utility bills are paid, heat is on, and we have food in the pantry. And I have two good hands and my health to work tomorrow -to ensure things stay that way. I am thankful for the love of my boyfriend and my parents and, lol, a cat and dog that ensure I get up out of bed every morning, because if nothing else one of them needs to be walked and both need to be fed. And I'm very thankful I discovered face painting. Ever since I started painting my anxiety attacks have been almost nonexistent. And I'm awfully grateful for the folks here on the forum that keep me inspired and motivated.

My best to you Maurs on your procedure!

I am so very thankful for:

My amazing job doing what I absolutely love and getting paid for it.
My supportive family who loves me.
My wonderful kids who are physically healthy and happy in life.
God, for providing every blessing I have in my life, and always exceeding my wildest dreams.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I am thankful for my "real" job where I can work providing compassionate emergency care to sick animals and not just help heal them, but sometimes heal their owners in the process.

I am thankful for having the best relationship in the world - seriously, how did I get so lucky?

I am thankful that we make enough money to have everything we "need" and even somethings that we might want.

I am thankful that we have a hardworking spirit and the right attitudes to keep working hard in the face of challenges.

I am thankful for my health and that I decided to bust my arse and start running (I am NOT a runner), and actually made it to 10 miles this weekend!! (Couch to 5k is a miracle program). I am so thankful that I will be able to run my first half marathon before I am 30.

I am thankful that life is good, but I am also thankful that I received a great upbringing to be able to make the choices that lead to a good life. There is no fate, only choices to be made.

Q: Do you believe in fate?
A: "No. I believe in hard work and luck. The first often leads to the second." -J.K. Rowling
