Uploading Photos to Gallery
I'm trying to upload photos to my gallery and a message keeps telling me that they are too large or that they are corrupted. They are only 120KB in size (3"x5" at 72dpi). It let me do one but not anymore. Is anyone else having this problem?
Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
You shouldn't be having this problem as your file size is fine and there still 60% unused memory for the galleries. I saved on of my photos already in the gallery and tried to upload it and it is showing the same error message. I will go to the forum help boards and see if someone can help.
Sorry for the trouble.

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
Turns out, your file may still be too large. I increased the allowable size to .3 mb from .1 mb. Hopefully this should help. PM me if you need help resizing.

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
I cant even figure out how to upload pictures to the gallery >_> Which makes me feel silly.. but I really can't figure it out. ^^; Help please?
Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
Go to the gallery link at the very top of the forum.
Click on "your personal gallery" and click upload. Make sure your files are not too large. Let me know if you still need help.

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
Winger,
Are you trying to upload to "your gallery" or the message here? If you click on gallery across the toolbar then, my personal gallery, it is super easy to upload. Just click upload and browes(as long as it isn't too large)
If you are trying to upload to the message then you will need to follow the directions we pm'd about. What troubles me is that nothing is showing up from your pic at all in the message.
Usually when you aren't able to get it to work just right, the text will appear of the image will appear, i.e. url address of the pic and what "looks" like some html. So since nothing is appearing, I really can't tell what you are doing in order to help.
Do you want to walk us through what you are doing?
Also, did you know that there is a seperate section in your profile to put your website so that you do not have to link it from your "Gallery Link"? It should either say website or look like a globe. This will allow you to have both your web address accessible and will allow you to set up a gallery for the forum with your photos so that you can direct other members to your gallery until we get the mystery solved as to why you can't post in messages.
If you want to email me the panda image, I will check and make sure it meets all the size and file requirements so at least you know you are working with a file that will work.

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
I was trying to upload a photo from my files, a jpg one. Its of a panda mask that's on my website that I made look 'furry' instead of just flat white.
I clicked on the 6th box from the left above my reply box, browsed my file for it, clicked on the forum size, then the box gave me three choices and I picked the middle one and clicked on upload. Nothin went thru, sigh.

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
BTW, I wanted the photo to appear in the message part. I already have a gallery link.

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
Susan,
I think I have figured out the problem.
What you need to do is copy the text from the middle box and paste it into your message. Don't hit upload again.
Here are the directions again from our pm.
1. Click on the "Host an image" icon. It is the first button of the 5th set that looks like a pic with a disc in front of it.
2. Once the box opens, browes to your file and click "Host it"
3. You will then see three options that come up Thumbnail, Image and Image url. copy the text from the Image(2nd box).
4. Paste what you copied into your message and you are done.
Also, your gallery link leads to your picturetrail. There is also a way to have your own gallery on the forum. This is what I was refering to.

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
Ok, that's what I did, as you said. I didn't know that I had to copy & paste it, I thought the window did that. And, I finally figured out how to get rid of the window afterwards so I can write this. I guess Im a dinosaur when it comes to hi tech new fangled things like this.
Oh my heavens, I previewed the post and the photo is there, too! This is a panda mask I painted during my Jam, making the white part look furry. I will post more of my rainbow designs to share next week as I have to demonstrate the technique of my oil painting classes every day this week.
Special thanks for hanging in there with me untill I got how to upload photos, Metina!!! It was most appreciated!
Happy Painting,
Susan

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
PS: I didnt like the red close to the eye, so I created another rainbow cake with a yellow, red, blue progression for these designs.
And, thanks Angie, for the suggestions of more color combinations that reside on my pallet now! I have to order more paint to create the rest of them ; )

Re: Uploading Photos to Gallery
Mike (the panda) just sent me a photo of the Cherry Blossoms (framing the Jefferson Memorial here in Washington, DC) that I painted on his hand at my Jam. Actually the blue was very pale but came out brite in the photo.
