I am soooo excited.....

OMG - I am so fricking excited. I mailed out some postcards to some big companies a few weeks ago. And.....I got a call from one of the major daycare systems in our area. She booked me for November 10th already.
She said she received my postcard in the mail, checked out my website and called me right away. She was really impressed with my painting.

So, I am booked for a 2.5 hour job for Nov.10th. And she said that they do alot of events throughout the year.

I gave her my price (which was $125 an hour for large groups) my normal party hourly rate is $75 for the first hour and $60 for each additional hour. She said that if there are kids waiting when my end time comes up, I can stay until I want. And they tip well on top of my hourly rate.)

I feel like I am finally getting my name out there and all of my hard work is finally paying off.

Is this too good to be true? Can someone pinch me?

Thanks all. I am excited as well. I won't be quitting my day job. But, hopefully in 2 years when my mortgage is paid off......I can just do face painting.

I'm waiting for my publications to arrive. I had some brochures and business cards made. My publisher was sick last week and didn't get them shipped off. I didn't complain, though. He did them for free!

I've been wanting to send out cards to the local child care centers. But I am waiting for the hubby to get my web page finished....started

You go girl! Do post after and tell us how it goes? May I ask how many children you aim for in an hour when you are doing large groups like this? And how you alter what you do (say opposed to your princess party)? I've been having fun playing but I guess it's time to start coming up with my repertoire of event-friendly faces.

This past weekend I painted approx. 400 kids in 3 hours. And they were mostly full faces. I guess I just stick to what is requested and alter it to my line up.
I will however make a poster board with faces to offer.

400 in 3 hours eh?... that's um 133 per hour? Or was that supposed to be 40? LOL

I read that and wondered.....I know there is such a thing as speed face painting...and I thought OMGosh! How in the world....?! I'm imagining those speeded up videos or the mother on that new show "No Ordinary Family".
