10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
Hey guys!!! I need some breast cancer inspiration!!!!!!!! I am painting a belly and arms in a 'breast cancer' theme.
You can do it on a practice pad, actual person, a back... etc. The actual focus will be a pink ribbon and whatever else you can think of....
You have 10 days and the winner gets a $20 forum gift card
Have at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell us more about the mom to be? Is she a surviver or she is honoring someone else?

Re: 10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
Sounds fun Suzie. I too would like to know more about the person, event, photo shoot?
Re: 10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
Sorry, I should have been more specific. Is she having a boy or girl? Does she have any hobbies she enjoys? How is she decorating her nursery? How is she planning to use the photos (personal or for an event or for another person)? Sorry if this is too much. I just think belly paintings are really personal and I always try to create mine based on the personality and interests of the mom. Thanks for your help!

Re: 10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
Okay, Here is my tribute. I added names to the hearts of friends and family members currently fighting breast cancer or in the cancer free stage. I painted the cross in memory of those who have died and a name could be added there. You could paint names ahead of time or have a bunch of hearts and ribbons and add names as the event went on (if you were attending, I think it would be really touching to do it as an interactive piece that way) To tie it together I'd do this design on the torso and do the heart and ribbons like sailor tattoos on the arms.
Hope you like it.
I was inspired by the Run for the Cure a cancer fundraiser here in Canada held yesterday in town and cities across the country.
Kathy, whose name is at the bottom of the picture was joined on the walk by her husband, daughter and grandchildren. She was in really rough shape this summer during chemo and infections following her surgery but yesterday she was striding strongly trying to get her family to keep up.
This design is dedicated to the survivors and the lovely souls we've lost to this disease.
As Kathy said - go get a mammogram!
Peace,
Danica

Re: 10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
Ok here is my offering. I combined the ribbon of hope with the butterfly because traditionally butterflies represent transformation. I know you said this was for a belly or arm, but I figured it could be adapted to both.
p.s. I realized after I already painted it that my words were backwords..lolol

Re: 10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
I didn't have a torso to paint, so please excuse my leg...
And this is how it would pan out on a body:
I want to do this body painting now, too! I might very well do it. Ilove the idea of the end of the ribbon being the road to the cure

Here is another offering with a slogan I thought of
The banner reads "We Walk In Honor of Those Who Can't"

Thanks! It was fun. I liked your ribbonfly! Very clever.
Haha, so I showed my mom, who looked at it and said, "you should add a rainbow." "...you mean like that big rainbow in the background?" "What? ...oh yeah!"
Ahh Mom.

wow wow wow krystal so totally beautiful!!!!! you should totally find a model for that piece of art!!!!
Re: 10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
Thanks ladies! I'd love to find a model to paint this on at some point. If/When I do, I'll post photos!
Re: 10 day breast cancer challenge!!!
Ok, be gentle as I did have to paint it on myself so it's defiantly not perfect, but I didn't have a model.
It wasn't finished in the second photo, but the lighting was better so I put it up. Hope it helps inspire you Suzie!
