The first place prize is a 12 colors essentials palette and 2 colors of loose glitter. The second place prize is a 6 colors pastel palette and 1 loose glitter.

Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
you look great in the video!!... don't know if i'll enter...never filmed myself painting...maybe with pictures...but I do have a new webcam at home...maybe I have to give this a try...
Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
So to clarify, you ARE looking for step by steps, whether they be video or slideshow, right?
Yay contests!
Yay contests!
Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
No, filming yourself painting or doing step by steps is not required. Just take pictures of the finished look and put them into a short picture slideshow, or film yourself with the finished look on your face (or you with the person you painted if you used a model). It's not required to show the progress of your work, but if you want to, that's fine, just make sure the video is under 2 minutes.
Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
Oh yeah, in case some of you aren't familiar with youtube, in order to enter the contest, you must have a youtube account, be subscribed to me, and submit your entry in the form of a video response. Although it might sound complicated, it's actually really easy, and it's free
Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
I'm going to see if my mom will let me do this, I really want to!
Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
Sorry if this seems rude... but why are YOU running a contest? Not sure of the purpose of it.
I know people like to enter and win things ( duh! ) but... I'm a bit of a cynic and wonder what purpose there is behind it.
What are the photos/sbs going to be used for? Just to be there for reference for any and all, do you plan to use them for other purposes? Are you just trying to increase your traffic and advertising revenues? Are people releasing their rights to their photos by posting them to your site?
When a contest is run there is usually a purpose - Snaz runs them to generate sales and produce a massive library on the net. This forum runs them because the members wanted them and it shares ideas amongst them. Other contests are a way of soliciting a specific design or photo to be used for promotional reasons (like any of the conventions running contests for cover photos, or a company for packaging, etc.) Some run them to increase their own web presence and inflate their own reputations and business base.
I don't really know who you are - are you a DFX dealer? What are your FP credentials and reason for the contest?
Why you are running this contest, and what do you plan to do with the photos and submissions?

Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
Congratulations and best of luck with your contest. I hope others dont attempt too hard to spoil the fun for you. This should be a very simple, very fun thing, no excuse for anything less. I love that you went with a Halloween theme, afterall...it is October. I enjoyed the video and again, best of luck...I think it's awesome you even decided to offer a contest.

Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
Hi Shannon,
The main reason I'm hosting the contest is because, for the past couple of months, I've been the representative for DFX on youtube. I don't sell DFX, but I do get compensated by them to upload one video a month in which I do tutorials showing viewers how their products can be used.
Company hosted contests are wildly popular on youtube because, generally, they're very beneficial for everyone involved. The company sponsoring the contest (in this case, DFX) gains a large amount of exposure and excitement generated toward their brand. The channel hosting the contest (in this case, my lisajoyyoung channel) gets compensated, but, more importantly, gains viewers and subscribers for their channel and gets the opportunity to do something nice for their subscribers. The people who enter the contest benefit because, since their entries are visible for everyone to see, they also gain viewers and subscribers for their own channels (and, of course, they have the chance to win some cool prizes ) Hopefully that answers your question about the "purpose" of the contest.
As far as your question regarding what I'm going to do with the entries, I'm going to watch them, pick which 2 I like best, and send those two people their prizes. That's it . The videos won't be posted anywhere other than the video response section of my channel, and the people entering are not releasing their rights to them.
As far as my face painting credentials, I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, but I've been face painting for 4 years now and own my own company in Northern California. Here's a link to my website if you want to check it out: www.illusionfaceart.com
Okay, Hopefully that cleared things up for you

Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
Yup, thanks.
I just like to know the angles.
By "credentials" I basically meant that I had not heard of you as a dealer etc. so wondered why you would choose to run a contest.
From my point of view here is someone I've never heard of wanting "me" to post my work on their site/channel. Sure there is a prize... but like I said I'm a cynic and just have to ask myself what's in it for them.
You've answered my questions, thank you very much. Good luck with it.

Great idea Lisa! I'm not very youtube smart, so I don't know if I'll be able to do it
I'll have to see if I have time to learn a new skill...
Thank's Shannon for being a voice of wisdom & looking out for us!

Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do I view the entries? I've been trying to figure it out on this one and on another contest I saw on youtube.
P.S. Lisa, I love your tutorials!

Yes, sorry, the video response wasn't showing because I hadn't approved it yet. It's now approved and you can view it (and any other video responses) by scrolling down through the comments until you see the video response section. Then, you click on the video you want to watch. Let me know if that works for you!
Re: Halloween Contest on my Youtube Channel
Thanks for the challenge Lisa,
I entered the skull wearing a butterfly mask. I've never posted anything on youtube before. It's a bit of a learning experience but I know it's something that I will improve at.
Maybe we need a Step by Step on how to make and post a video! LOL!

Remember, if you're entering in Lisa's contest, you can't enter the same design in the FPF contest.
