Any suggestions about shopping for lighting fixtures?
Hello Guys!
I'm looking for any type of lighting fixture that I can use at events at night.
I currently do not have a tent so it has to be set up on the table, or on the floor. Any suggestions?
I'll be working on an halloween carnival and the organizers asked me to bring some lights for my station if is possible, they will reimbursed me.
I have on hand a 500W work light that my husband uses for filming ,but I don't think I can use it. The problem is that it gets too hot within minutes of being turned on. Its just too strong..
Any suggestions are highly appreciated! Thankss!

Check out a hardware store. They have loads of work lights. I have a few simple ones with clamps that I attach to my tent, but I know they have ones that are on stands.

I have a camping light that runs on batteries that I use. Try the camping section of the store.

I have an led light like the one Keesha showed but mine is battery operated. VERY bright. This is the same idea:

I hang it on my neck and MAN everything I look at is lit. There is some ambient lighting as well so everything is not pitch dark.
I set up table lights with batteries around my stuff as well. Very pretty.

What about an LED headlamp like this: http://tinyurl.com/LEDheadlamp
They are so versatile -- I've used them for clipping my baby's nails at night, hiking, camping and my husband uses it for home repairs.
Because it is on your forehead, it is always pointing in the direction you are looking at, and your hands are free

Maybe you *can* use your lamp if you switch to fluorescent bulbs? They are much much cooler and use less energy...
