Things are going so well *grin*
I'm just so pleased with everything that I have to share This weekend I've got 4 parties booked in - 3 through the guy I'm contracting for and one direct through my own little website. I'm super new to this game and to have 4 gigs in a weekend is more than I'd ever hoped to ask for! Alongside my day job, it's actually too much if it keeps up haha... it won't though, so i'm definitely not complaining
Love it!
Love it!

Congrats! I remember the 1st time I had that many gigs! It was awesome & a little overwhelming all at once. It was a great weekend & went well!
Re: Things are going so well *grin*
yea it is a nice feeling definitely a little overwhelming but I was surprised by how my first gig just kinda flowed and was fun, so not too worried. Deleena, you'll be great!
Re: Things are going so well *grin*
YAY you!! You have a great site too, you should get more nibbles off it!
Re: Things are going so well *grin*
Thanks Melisadill! Have been surprised by how many people I've had contacting me off the site actually
Re: Things are going so well *grin*
How'd you get the visitor location map on your site? I love that!
Re: Things are going so well *grin*
it's quite cute eh you just go to this site, pop your details in and then use the html code they give you - I copied it into a HTML widget but whatever your site builder allows

I would suggest taking 2 advils before you sleep to relax your muscles and any tension you may get. I remember when I first started get double gigs on the weekends that by Sunday i was slightly sore and sunday night I was exhausted. You adrenaline will be pumping as well you'll be tense from the excitement and trying to get all the kids done properly. This takes a toll on your muscles, not to mention sitting/standing as you paint. If you sit, you get tension in your legs as you lean towards the client. If you stand, your arches or legs may hurt later on...Just saying, lol

I tottaly agree with you. I had 2 gigs last saturday. One of them from noon til 3 pm the other one 4 till 7pm..I didn't get enough sleep the night before, I felt horrible on saturday by sunday my entire body ached and felt like I was hungover.. Horrible feeling!
So my best advice..try to relax the day before, a hot shower or get in the tub...a good night sleep, eat good the day of the gigs and remain hidrated! Good Luck , and good vibes to you!!!

You're totally right - I can't believe how sore my back is getting after having done a few straight hours of face painting and I get so caught up that I don't take proper breaks (which is naughty I know) - I just get in the swing of it and when there's a line standing there I feel bad just jumping up... need to get my head around it though because I'm sure it will help! will pop a couple of painkillers now, thanks
did an opening for a new cupcake shop today (Yum!) and a really fun birthday party (jungle theme) where I did balloon twisting in front of people for the first time ever. The mum just gave me the most amazing little testimonial so i'm stoked!! it was only a few months ago I wasn't evening thinking about this stuff and now i'm out doing it and loving it
(loving everything but the sore back muscles haha)
