Going offline for a couple weeks to learn to relax!
Well, we're off to my husband's favourite place in the world to a lake in the Cariboo, BC. He gets to fish every morning and the kids get to play in water all day long and eat s'mores at night. I get to cook in the dirt...
I'm taking lots of paper to work out designs for the Bodyssey competitions and bringing my kit so I can practice on all the kids there. The first 'public' faces I did was last year at the lake. I think I'll put up a sign that says 'by donation' or something this time. I'm taking my 'idea' book of all the wonderful designs I've seen so I can practice and make my own versions.
There's no internet or even cell service there so I might be going through withdrawals. The good news is 100 mile is only 1/2 an hour away and I can pop into the internet cafe there. I bought a padded lawn chair and beach shelter, and I'm determined to learn how to relax
I'll be back in August! Hugs!

That sounds so fun! See ya when you get back!
Every year in January I fast tv, internet that's not work related, twitter, etc. It's so refreshing & really sets my year off to a great start. This year I prayed about getting a job & really felt like I was supposed to take my face painting to the next level & try to really see if I could make real $ at it(up till then I did a gig a month). WOW! I feel so blessed w/ how sucessful this years been & it's only 1/2 way done!

'Ask and ye shall receive' Linda : )
I'm outta here in the morning. I might make it to an internet cafe if I go into major withdrawals I was totally inspired this morning with a body art design, so I'll have fun working out the sketches.
Have a great couple of weeks!

I'm on my way back! We're off the lake after 10 days of relaxation. 5 days in a campsite and 5 days in the condo...we've booked the condo for the whole time next year! What a difference.
We're at my niece's house for the night and back on the road tomorrow. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again tomorrow night.
Fishing wasn't great this year like last year, but I did get 5 Kokanee for breakfast last week. Yumm! No 16 lb lake trout though.

I hardly painted at all! there weren't many kids and had to resort to painting on myself. I got to paint only 3 kids. my own wouldn't even let me paint them. I did ã lot of sketching though.
uh...'fish' Kokanee Shannon, not the beer! Ha Ha Ha. I'll have to remember to post the sasquach and yeti costumes I made my brothers back in the day. they had the Kokanee shorts too!

Oh Shannon...I forgot to post my 'Mugwump' photos! I made them for my brothers and then the following year my friend and I dressed up in them 'looking for our mugwumps that had gone out for beer and not come back' (They're from a 'beer commercial' from back in the 80's here in BC where 'Kokanee beer' comes from.)
Keep in mind this is long before I knew anything about facepainting!
