Put bid in for big account today...

So I check my email and I got an email asking me to place a bid for events that Sears is having. 18 dates, all Saturdays, all for 5 hours. (11-4) so I can still book parties in the evening if I want to.

With any luck my fall schedule just got a lot fuller!

Oh good not long at all, you know like sometimes with big corpoations they bid out 6 mos in advance and keep you waiting on the edge of your seat.

I don't know yet. I contacted him over the weekend to see what was going on. I got an email this morning saying they were still looking over bids and the entire program as a whole. So... as soon as I know I'll let you all know.

Whats the whole deal? What I mean is, what is Sear's marketing strategy for hiring face painters? Are they having a huge kids sale section or something? Is this only over there or are other sears stores doing this? The one over here in Falls Church, VA is somewhat in need of a make over!

I don't like those bids website. I was on gigmaster for a few but was there that face painter who was pricing half of my price, even if her pictures was uggly she was getting all the gigs... not easy to deal with peeps who break the market with cheap prices

Nope, I don't know who got the bid, but they wanted someone who could handle all 3 locations, so nope... no other opportunity. I had a feeling I was going to be underbid, but I had to base my quote on what others would charge since it was for 3 stores.

Oh well... maybe next time.

My daughter saw someone painting in the Chicago area and remarked to me on their bloated, crusty butterflies. Better to keep high standards!

I don't like (real) butterflies at the best of times...picturing crusty ones = sick!

Unfortunately we see a lot of those.

I had that girl who stayed at my booth watching me working, she got one of those horrible butterfly (if I can call that a butterfly). I was feeling so bad for her and at the same time I was thinking, please sweetie go away, I don't want that people can think that I did that to you! I had a huge line, if not I will have offer her to wash her face and paint her for free.
