Re: Three More Today-
What a great series! I love them all, but I think the inner dragon is my favorite so far.

Re: Three More Today-
The baby took 3 hours including pictures. The hands and heart was done in 2 The dragon was about 3.
One of the reasons I came up with this series is with a gallery show on the Horizon, I needed a BUNCH of work in a short period of time... so, decided on this concept as it was much shorter than full paints.
Here is the baby color corrected etc...

I will tell you, the baby scared me to death as I knew there was potential for him to end up looking like the bad seed... Which is one of the reasons I left the features soft and unsharp. That was done mostly with air brush, using a set of hand cut shields based on a picture of an actual baby in that position. Then I hand colored and shades with a #0 brush, so it took a ton of time, but I was REALLY nervous about how it was going to come.

Re: Three More Today-
Very awesome work! Was there a specific objective, or were you coming up with something for yourself? Just curious. They seem conceptual.
Re: Three More Today-
It's a series, for a book and gallery show, called "What's Inside"- the idea being that the models have torn, peeled, unzipped or unlaced their skin to show us "What's Inside" Shooting for 28 before it is all done... BUT We'll see.
Re: Three More Today-
Thanks for the explanation. I didn't see the previous thread when I posted. Good luck! Everything looks great!

Re: Three More Today-
Thank you... three more today... first model is already late- but c'est le painting!
There is a nice accidental progression happening in the first set of designs, so I am now seeing the book sort of split into chapters or concept groupings.

Re: Three More Today-
I love these too!!! The broken heart is such a sweet concept. I didn't even notice the baby's belly button, but that is super clever. You are so talented!! I really want to start body painting.
Re: Three More Today-
The book should be out in November to coincide with a gallery show.... So, hopefully it DOES go a little someplace.... but if not- we made pretty images!

Re: Three More Today-
Love the second one best! I'm sure that's going to be an exciting book and show! So different!
Re: Three More Today-
Well... hopefully both of them are well received. The book is going to be sold at a break even point just to act as a promo tool for the show, and in theory might help print sales during and after the show since it can kind of act as a catalog. I'm just having fun with the project- if it makes $ GREAT for everyone concerned... if not, at least we made art!
