A Dream Come True
Just wanted to tell you...it's been a lifelong dream of mine to visit Ireland. Thanks to my face painting business, my husband & I are going. We fly out of Orlando, Florida on June 9th arriving at Shannon Airport on the 10th. We have 2 days on our own in Dublin. There are 9 of us going. We'll be taking a 10 day tour with CIE. I'm a bit calmer now, but when we first made our reservations months ago, I started crying every time we talked about it. Happy, Happy tears of joy!!! For a girl who grew up in South Boston, MA (home of the "lace-curtain Irish") this is so wonderful. I can't wait to see O'Connell bridge, County Cork, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, so much more & meet the people. Although our tour stops at Blarney Castle, no need for ME to kiss the Blarney Stone. I was born with the "gift of gab". Even tho' I am Pat Carney & I live in Florida...I'll always be:
Patti O'Connell Carney, from South Boston

Have a great trip! Ireland is on my wish list for travel too! (I'm part Irish and my youngest daughter does Irish dance. If she qualifies for the world dance competition sometime, maybe we'll make the trip!)

Re: A Dream Come True
Thanks everyone! Love you too, Miss Ronnie, (& Fessy)!
Kris5115, Hope you get there some day. That would be so awesome if it were w/your daughter's stepdancing. I just painted at our annual "Irish Fest on Flagler" here in West Palm Beach, FL...
LOVED watching the kids dance.

Re: A Dream Come True
Valerie B, we had a GREAT time in Ireland. I highly recommend it. Anna BB, you are so right about the people. That's what it was like growing up in South Boston, MA. Here's a few pics, including the Temple Bar
& as Bing Crosby sang, watching "...the sun go down on Galway Bay."
& the Cliffs of Mohr
