Which would you choose?
So, I need a gazebo for outdoor events and living in Scotland I need to purchase a commercial grade versionn to cope with the weather, especially the wind. I have decided on a Galatent Pro-MX but too much choice in colour. I have ruled out white as I imagine will be more difficult to keep clean so I came to two colours as picture. What would you pick and has anyone got experience in working under either of these colours? Thanks
Re: Which would you choose?
I have to say I find the 2nd one to be hideous looking, lol! But I am not one to take advice from when it comes to colors, haha. I would look into whether or not events in your area require a specific color as noted else where on the forums so that you're not investing a lot of money and later finding out you can't use it in all places.
Re: Which would you choose?
I do not have experience working under a colored tent, but I have read many times that it distorts the lighting, therefore making your yellows look green (if you are under a blue tent for example) while you are face painting etc. Of the two colors you posted, I would pick the blue because it is a more gender neutral color.
Here in the USA, many fairs only allow white 10'x10' tents to keep the festival more uniform and professional looking (kind of like a Home Owners Association). I have a white commercial grade and it doesn't look dirty after 3 years of use. The material they are made of repels dirt.

Re: Which would you choose?
I'm still gearing up and practicing for a return to face-painting at festivals and craft fairs but my dad is an artist and eviedejesus is correct. Colored tents will do a nasty number on colors of things inside the tent. You could probably overcome the tinting problem with high quality lights but then you have to worry about making sure you always have electric and I can tell you from experience that even lights won't completely overcome the tinting effect from a colored tent.
My dad had his tent set up outside his workshop in our yard and didn't get it down before a bad thunderstorm and the frame got twisted. He had to go work two different shows with a red pop=up because he was stubborn and wouldn't let me just order a new EZ=Up online. He hated it. It cast a red tint on all of his paintings.
You would think the white would start looking dirty. Especially if you make sure you store them properly. The few times we've had to pack up in less than ideal conditions, my dad has always made certain to put it up in the back yard and let it dry out good. Most dirt will usually brush right off after it dries. Sometimes we will clean spots with a cleaner of some kind. Here in the states, we have a product called Mean Green which works wonders.

Re: Which would you choose?
Colored tents will mess with the light in your tent. Even with your photos you take of your work.
My tent is green and gray, and the inside is silver. It reflects light perfectly and doesn't distort the colors.
If i HAD to choose one of those tents it would be the blue one because it's lighter and would have less of an effect on the lighting because it's a cool shade. The purple has elements of red and warm tones in it and would distort the perception of color more within the tent.

Re: Which would you choose?
Thank you for your replies. The white tents get dirty easily here so I have chanced the blue canopy. Maybe I should have looked for a silver tent?. Maybe next canopy cover I buy 😃
Re: Which would you choose?
totally agree, white tents aren't the answer either because they get dirty so easily.
This one is mine
and inside it's silvery so it reflects light very nicely.
You just gotta find something that isn't white, but also isn't bright.

Re: Which would you choose?
update on the blue canopy. Day 1, fine no issues as no sun. Day 2, sun sun sun....I had issues at first differentiating some colours but I managed the day. I contacted the manufacturers and they have so kindly offered an exchange for the Silver Canopy (closest to white I could get without getting the white). Hopefully this will solve the problem...taking your word on this Forest-fairy 😆
Re: Which would you choose?
Yes, silver will be much better! Luckily for you they're open for an exchange!
Re: Which would you choose?
I know....brilliant company to deal with. Think they ship worldwide too so if anyone is in need of a commercial grade pop up gazebo I highly recommend Gala Tent 😃
Re: Which would you choose?
excellent! Trust me you will notice a difference, it really brings in more light and makes photos way better. So nice of the company to offer the exchange!
Re: Which would you choose?
Before I started doing face painting I used to do a lot festivals selling my art, in a lot of them only allow white tents, I have had my tent (easy up) brand for about 7 years now and looking and working perfect.
