Eyeshadow over facepaint?

How well does this work?

The question isn't clear...

I'm going to have facepaint all over my eyes - a solid color, and I'm curious if shadow will sit on top of it well.

depends on the effect you want, but generally not too good. (better if the eyeshadow is the base, with face paint over it, see below)

top - wolfe white face paint with dry eyeshadow applied immediately

bottom - wolfe white with wet eyeshadow applied immediately (wet eyeshadow tended to blend with and smear the white face paint)



here's the reverse - wolfe white face paint over eyeshadow (2 of the colors are the same eyeshadow as above)

and that's sloppy linework on my part, you could get more opaque, cleaner strokes if you tried.

Wow. Looks like I'll be rethinking how I go about my design. I'll put eyeshadow on first then paint around it for sure.

Starblends for the win.

Regular beauty eye shadow just doesn't blend on top of the wax base very nicely. Regular eye shadow is meant to be put on top of a later of coverup or foundation in order to stick nicely for a color pop and blend. But you try to put the same stuff over wax based makeup and it gets lumpy or doesn't behave as nicely. But starblends, are just ohhh! so nice!  

Much better when you work with something that was made for the job IMO.

I see Forest fairy has jumped on the Starblends bandwagon.
