Is what I randomly like to tell people now and leave it at that - without saying why, lol.  Although it is true, I've ordered a Mannequin Practice Head but I like to see their reaction.  It's for face painting obviously.  No kissy, kissy jocolor

I ordered this one.  It only came to $16.48 so if it does the job GREAT!  If not... not a huge loss.  But I'm hoping it'll work out so that I can practice and take some pictures of my designs.

So... I ordered a Mannequin Head... Jscqi10

Actually I was thinking Dorothy...

So... I ordered a Mannequin Head... Major-armstrong-on-the-royal-baby-meme

(tell me someone knows who this is and we shall be best friends always and forever - FMA FTW!)

Has anyone purchased one similar to this one?  Should I consider coating it in something before painting on it?

I also ordered a couple 100ml Spray Bottles (here) - Very happy with the price of $1.25 for two.

Really having fun ordering items on line now.  I've ordered a number of items lately for my full-time job and have gotten some really good deals!  Any body have any other good deals to share? bounce

oh, you got one of the alien ones! I was at a workshop a while ago and someone had George/dorothy's sibling, and the dimensions were a little off... giving it an alien-like look ...
Head works though, It's not like a ProFace one (they're the expensive ones that feel almost like skin), more like a Mehron one (hard and barbie-like plastic).
I'd suggest spraying with hairspray before painting, just so the colour won't sink in

Nice I hope you have fun with your new practice head! Can't wait to see some cool stuff.

P.S. I'm probably the only one here who knows who  Alex Louis Armstrong is lol. He's also like my favorite character in the series because it's just SOOO funny.

This is you and me right now.

So does that make us bestie's? lol

I like GeoDot's name!

My practice heads are named:
Teenage Head
Headley LaMarr (a rescue head from Miss Ronnie, arrived already appropriately named).

I've got 2 ProFace heads, they're named Doris and Boris...
I only named them when I took them to a convention for the first time, because so many painters had the same type of practice head, and I didn't want to get mine mixed up... So they have their names painted on the back Smile

I am a bad, neglectful Face Paint Mannequin Head Mom....
I left Headley LaMarr behind at Face Paint University: New England.
Jana Avram, Sean Avrams' lovely wife carried Headley to Key West, at Fantasy Fest. Sean and Pashur were painting at Paradise Tattoo, and I was painting on Big Pine Key. When I picked Headley up, I had Sean and Jana sign the back of Headley's head (that sounds weird if I say it out loud). I saw Nick Wolfe and Madelyn Greco on Duvall Street waiting to body paint, and I got them to sign Headley's head, too. They each signed where they were when they met Headley... so now, Headley carries her own 'passport' on her back!

I suspect I am in the minority for naming my practice head.  I have not shared this information with other people, because it is kinda weird that I named a piece of plastic.
I think YOU are normal, Forest-Fairy!
I am the not-normal one.
I do not want to admit that out loud.
Just don't read that one sentence about my mental state.

Most practice heads can be wiped off with 99% alcohol.
I have found that my practice heads, Teenage, and Headley LaMarr come cleaner with acetone from the beauty supply store.
