Best way to remove face paint from clothing
Hello painty people! So i had an event yesterday face painting and the client contacted me today about her husband getting face paint on his shirt. I am curious what would be the best method for getting it out that I can tell her. Also do you have a clause in your contract saying you are not liable for paint stains on furniture and clothing etc. Just want to make sure she has the best advice and to cover myself too. Thank you in advance.

Ivory bar soap moistened and rubbed into it, on both sides--then laundered (and repeat if needed) works best for me.

Totally have to spot clean before laundering. But otherwise it really depends on the fabric.
Yes i do have something in my contract but it's worded a bit differently.

Definitely have to pre-treat. Once it has been washed and dried it is pretty much permanent. Bar soap or dish detergent, or even shampoo, will work to get it out before machine washing.
I've got a poly-cotton shirt with permanent Snaz black all down the arm - it is a yellow shirt. Didn't notice before washing - that was 12 years ago and the stains are still there.

Thank you all so much for your advice! I told client to treat stain before washing and to hand wash until the shirt was clean. I am not sure of the material unfortunately I am hoping it comes out for them because overall they were wonderful clients to work for. I will try to update in my contract where I am not liable for damage to clothing or furniture to make sure all bases are covered.

I don't know if anyone is still watching this topic but I use Amodex to get paint stains out and I recommend it to clients if they ask. My sister suggested it to me a while ago. I got some Wolfe black on my shirt and had already washed and dried it. Used the Amodex and it came right out. After that, I was sold.
You can usually find it in the laundry isle of the grocery store.
