New to the Forum

Hi everyone!  My name is Anna and I'm from Southern California.  I've been face painting for 8 years, but I've just gotten into the business side of it in the past year or so.  I started face painting as a way to earn service hours for my daughter's K-8 school.  In the past 3 years I've built up quite a collection of Ben Nye Magicolor liquid face paints, Aqua Glitter, Lumiere Brilliant & Metallic Palettes, and Mehron Fantasy F/X, but after reading these boards for the past several days, I realize I need to add Wolfe or Tag to my kit.  The paid gigs I've had in the past year have been promotional weekends for a local costume shop and 1 birthday party (ok, please don't laugh).  My greatest experience has been face painting for my church's annual charity carnival for the past 5 years.  It's a 3 day event of non-stop face painting.  I recently started painting at a regular weekend gourmet food truck event, but it hasn't been panning out very well--I'm not sure if that's the best venue for face painting.  But it's been a great experience for helping me to tweak my booth set-up.  I was just booked as a helper to another face painter for my first corporate event.  The event is in December, and that's what brought me here.  I know this is kinda backwards, but I posted for advice on this event in another thread before introducing myself.  So here I am to make the official introduction.  Nice to meet you all!
