damn I was gonna say Lonnie won but I can see what Forest-Fairy is saying about originality. I say we could use the ol artist 10% rule. Change/add 10% to the design. It's minecraft, nothing is too original anymore looking forward to final judgement on this!

Yikes - I know nothing about Minecraft, I was going to Google images about the video game; but I had no idea it was a popular face paint request. I guess I'm going to Google the face paint images too and make sure my entry (if I do one) looks nothing like the ones already posted.

I'm a gamer (at least I used to be, lol) but Minecraft isn't my kind of thing... this will be a toughy... but I'll definitely take this one over the Evil Fairy!!!!

Lonnie, the 3D effect is very well done for sure, i like that it's coming out of your arm.

I know with mine craft you do have to copy characters to an extent but i think placement, creativity, and over all design you can make with the aspects of the game are what going to make a design 'original'. Beloved15 has a perfect example of this, by taking aspects of the game (in this case a creeper and blocks) and making it into a dazzling eye design. Well done! I would count that as being original for sure.

Take the images and characters you find and add from there.

Forest-Fairy, I too absolutely love the game. I've never created any marvelous structures like you though. I've mostly spent hours and hours on servers with other friends and taming cats haha.

What I found most helpful for coming up with these designs, besides my fondness of the game, was thinking of other very basic face painting staples and tweaking them to be relevant to the game. Masks, eye designs, and double cheek art is what I settled on.

Beloved15 - well i have slowed down my creating for a bit. I'm more of a video game binge person. I'll play it straight for a week, get bored, then not play it again in months lol. Then back and forth.

Yes that is totally a great method to making a design using the characters. Love it.

Lonnie, your face painting image is fine to enter with step by steps and I agree that the 3-D image alone is worth it.

If anyone feels like those on the forum are not adhering to the rules, I would appreciate being able to make that call.

Being that Minecraft is a whole lot of squares for the most part(at least that is what I see when my two children play it for hours) it is going to be tough to do something that no one else on the planet has.

Original is more interpretive I suppose. If you came up with it on your own, then it is original even if someone else did it at the same time. But if you are doing someone's video tutorial from youtube then this is not original.

Face Painting a computerized image of any sort is original in my book. Because you are turning one form of art into another.

Well not exactly just squares, but it does have a lot of limitations--that is why I picked this one. A lot of people seem to struggle with this request so I thought this would help us stretch our imaginations.

lonnie, just looked at your 3D design again, it literally looks like a freaking hole in your arm. amazing how your eye can fool your brain, even when you know it's just an optical illusion.

Hello everyone ,  I thought I would give this a try, so her go's.  Step 1:  Step 2: Step 3: Final Picture:  I love this challenge!! My children love this game, and I have found myself and my husband have began playing it with them. Family game time, LOL =). He likes finding the gems, where I like decorating, and making things.
