mehron gem powder swatches - garnet, sapphire, emerald, onyx

got my mehron gem powders today!  swatches in my avatar (phone won't upload photos, updated, switched back to elsa avatar) & how they rate -

garnet (peachy pink wine color) - mixes easily with water, goes on saturated & smoothly, glittery, reflects peachy pink, love it!

sapphire (rich medium blue) - mixes well with water, goes on saturated & smoothly, moderately glittery, reflects true color, also love it

emerald (medium foresty green) - difficult to mix with water & clumpy, goes on more sheer so needs a couple coats, shimmery, reflects true color, pretty

onyx (deep black) - mixes well with water, goes on saturated, little if any shimmer, reflects inky black, works like wolfe black

Mehron makes a mixing liquid that you can use instead of water to make a more water-resistant colour that doesn't run off when sweating and it makes it more smudge-resistant.

i will probably have to get some mixing liquid. i did a design with areas of face paint and areas of gem powder mixed with water.

after it dried, i lightly rubbed the design with my finger, and the paint stayed put, but some of the gem powder came off.

i also tried mixing the gem powders with a bit of diluted white face paint or similar colored lighter face paint. that looked good, super sparkly paint.
