I'm publishing a book... plus a giveaway

Hi all!

And no, it isn't a book on face painting. lol

I just wanted to let you all know that my YA fantasy book, The Emissary, is coming out this September. I just posted a giveaway on my group writing blog. It's my first published novel, and it has been a really long road to get it out in the world. If anyone is interested in stopping by and taking a peek, I'd be grateful. Thanks! I must say though, face painting is much more emotionally fulfilling. With writing, you do a lot of work and then get a lot of rejection along the road. With face painting, you are rewarded with each smiling face, over and over again. Plus all the parents oooing and ahhing.. saying you're the best face painter they've ever seen (even though you know there are a TON of better artists out there than you).

Still, it is a nice emotional lift compared to writing. lol

GOOD for YOU!!! I completely agree, also. I am a writer too, and the immediate feedback and electric high from face painting is wonderful. That said, and you will get this, when I have just typed out an incredible paragraph on a quick rush, or, have struggled long and hard over a word, comma, phrase and then it all works out, I have been known to scream with cosmic joy, right here, all alone, in my quiet house. And that's feedback from the universe itself. It matches the face painting high for sure.

Congrats!!!! Hope it does well. You never know what happens! My artist girlfriend announced to us one day that she was going to be a writer. Sent her first book around...everyone rejected it. Wrote her second book anyway, sold it and won the "Newberry Award" Of course then the first book then sold immediately and she's been sitting pretty ever since with writing contracts and speaking engagements!!!!

Oh geeze! It doesn't typically happen that way. lol. Would be nice though!
