One Stroke Flowers Empty One Stroke Flowers

Post by sal2125 Wed May 07, 2014 6:48 am

o.k - So i am very new to this game - only been trying for a week. Never painted anything much before so will have load of questions as time goes on.

I attempted to do some one stroke flowers tonight (roses) using my starter kit TAG flat 12 brush and a split cake, but the bristles kept on splitting at the end and gave a dreadful stroke.

Any suggestions on how to to it better. Is there a better brush or technique?

Any help appreciated, as I don't have anyone local to teach me.

I'm still learning too... and those dang one stroke roses are (beep) sometimes Smile

I find that if my brush splits like that, it is too dry and you will need to put about 1mm of the tip back into the water.

There is an awesome one stroke loading video by Painted Party on youtube.  that might help too Smile

Also... Saskia D gave the scathingly simply and brilliant suggestion of lightly misting the skin's surface before painting.
