What's your experience with Wix?
I'm on the verge of making my own website.
But I am a bit of a noob with technicalities concerning computers.
My husband has registered a domain, www.creabellafaceart.nl but the site itself is still completely blank.
I was waiting for him to come up with some tools for me to use so I could build the site and makes changed later on when needed without it would be too incomprehensible for me....
Now he suggests wix.com. And I want you, who ever has experience with it, what it is like. What you think of it? How does it work?
Can you tell me something about it?

I made my website with webklik.nl
Works very good for me, easy to understand!
I do need to update my website, using facebook a lot, but there are still people who find me because of my website!
You can have a look at it by clicking the link!

My website is wix.
I am not very computer literate.
The damned computer just does what I tell it to do....instead of what I actually MEAN.
I hate that.
Wix was simple enough, even for me!
While my website is not flashy or updated as frequently as I should update it....I am satisfied with it.

Mine is wix too. www.PaintedParty.com. You use your domain name through them.

I was a web designer for many years as part of my graphic design firm. My daughter used Wix for a multimedia class project, so checked it out. Pretty impressive, whipped out a nice site with all the bells and whistles quickly, for free. They have nice design templates, easy to understand interface.

I have also created my Free website with webeminence.. It is very east and quick.. The user do not need know about web designing.. It includes the drag and drop tools to add different functionalities to your website.. I like it so much..

Re: What's your experience with Wix?
I have designed two websites for my business; one older and a better, newer one.
It is easy to use. Be patient when things are confusing. SAVE a lot, just in case using a LOT of photos slows or freezes your computer. That will SAVE you from redoing pages over and over.
I am a graphic artist who did work with mostly print, so a website was foreign territory. I thought I needed to know coding, but thankfully, Wix makes that unnecessary. The templates make it simple. I like having LOTS of photos and different page categories, so even thought my template was made for a non-art business, I was able to make it work for face painting.
Also having your own domain is better; you have a shorter web address and easier to remember.
Check me out at www.partypicassos.com. Good luck! If you have questions, just ask

Re: What's your experience with Wix?
Just checked out everybody's WIX site.
All are awesome !! I'm not quite ready to create a site yet....I'm still in the beginning stages of getting started, but I'm hooked !
I like the look and some of the special features I saw, like photos fading , etc.
I do have a questions about using photos being used, do you use a standard Model release form?? Verbal permission ?? I just did my first "gig" , work related,
but was not comfortable taking pics, . Feedback appreciated. Thanks

Re: What's your experience with Wix?
I ask if it's ok to take their photo for my Facebook and etc. Most people are thrilled and say ok. Good enough for me. With some of my more influential cliental, I don't ask and don't take photos. I think they appreciate their privacy.
Also when I have HUGE lines, there is no time for snapping a great photo. So lately, more painting and less photos.
