Dear Annainohio:
As a volunteer face painter at Halloween at SickKids Hospital in Toronto, my face painting partner and I wanted to volunteer more frequently than once per year. We approached ChildLife services. We were given verbal guidelines on brush sanitation from ChildLife. When we created a volunteer face painting program, ChildLife approached Rick Wray, of SickKids Infectious Disease Control. It took him about two months to give out a typed sheet of paper regarding "Face Painting in a Hospital Setting". It turns out that these are the same guidelines already followed in Canada in British Columbia.
There was no certificate. In the beginning, I was slow and clumsy, with all these different pots of water. Now, painting this way is a part of me. I believe I am adding an extra 6-8 seconds per face. I feel the extra seconds are worth it.

Happy Painting!
