Tall Chair

Hello I was wondering if anyone has purchased this? I know its a bit pricey but I LOOOVE the way it folds up.

The portability is really nice!! I use the Earth Products tall directors chair with the side table... I like the side table a lot, not sure I could function without it. But if someone wants a stable directors chair and doesn't need the table, this would be a nice find!

I own this chair.
I love how small the profile it folds up into.
It is only good for children. It is not meant for heavier adults. It lasted for two years before it gave out.

I would buy this again for events where there are only children, when my Earth Tall Director's chair with side table wears out.

My face painting gigs i do sitting down, and i watch my posture and always have my table to the right to fight off back and shoulder injury. I've been thinking of switching to a stand up chair to try it out, but i haven't seen any i like yet. Also I like sitting because my feet hurt, i can reach the stuff under my table better, and i don't have to lift many kids into the chair.

But makeup and special FX gigs i have WAY more stuff, and i need to be able to walk to each side of the model. Also you are expected to stand.

Similar to the one above but more heavy duty. When this chair is in the car is a space vampire, it's heavy, clunky, and awkward to carry - but I would never do a makeup gig with out it.   It's made for holding adults, and you can easily replace pieces that have worn out, like the canvas seat and back. TOTALLY worth the money in my opinion.

Though..... i didn't have to buy mine... We found it in an alley! It was in rough shape, wiggly, and the canvas was all sunken in and torn. We hauled that sucker home, took it apart, repainted it, bought new tighter fittings for it, and replaced the canvas with a new one (like i said you can buy parts separately). Now it's as good as new!

heavy space vampire that it is i NEVER leave home for a makeup gig with out it.

Not sure for using it for face painting though, as i would have to lift each kid onto it, or get a step stool for them (another thing to haul around). My back is strained either way, at least one way won't hurt my feet too. :p

That is good to know!!! we were thinking of getting one of those, but we def need them for adult use when on set. Guess we'll invest in another clunker instead :p.

The director's chair with the side table folds down. It is rated for up to 350lbs. I need to walk around and lean close to the children, too. I fold down the table and I put a "bed reading pillow" with tiny little squishy arms into the chair to keep the child pushed forward toward me.
I have a bad back, and sitting to paint exacerbates the pain. At the end of a long day… of course my feet hurt. I would rather have sore feet than a sore back. I can rest my feet at the end of a long day. I cannot restore my back just by sitting down for a few hours.

The top part of my FatMax kit comes off, and fits perfectly under the bottom rung of the telescoping chair… which makes a perfect stepping stool up to my chair for little ones, without jutting out too much into my footprint.

I also have a back issue (from my ninja days, not my painting days) so sitting while painting is no bueno. The tall chair is super sturdy, and the littles climb right up and in (or their parents lift them in, because in addition to the jacked back I am also quite tiny and lifting kids besides my own is no bueno). ... Love this chair, and if someday it gets so used it's no longer viable, I'd get another in a heartbeat. Love the pillow behind the little's back idea fess, that is something I should start doing to stop leaning in.

Awesome sauce. I love the portability. I wanted to get the one with the side table. but I don't know how I would transport it. right now I have a heavy duty rod iron one and I have to take 2 trips and its super heavy so I want a chair where I can take in one trip. I have a fat max also. anyone have a picture of how they transport their chair and fat max?

I have a dear friend & mentor who has this & loves it. It is not my fave for the reasons mentioned previously--I love my easy-up--but it has been intriguing for me to see & she is very happy with it. Yu really can't beat the price & it is so sturdy.

I was just about to make a new thread on this. I Have never sat down to paint and I was wondering if standing was better. I have a bad back also. and you just answered my question. =) thank you.
