My first Belly painting... Empty My first Belly painting...

Post by Sneezle Sat Mar 08, 2014 7:11 pm

A few months ago i made my first belly painting. I took me quite a long time. Almost 2 hours.  Shocked How long is it taking you all to paint a belly??? We used a sunbed/loungebed so it would be comfortable for her but my back really hurts after painting for almost 2 hours.

Congrats on painting your first belly Smile I just painted my first belly tonight. I painted for about 3 hours and created 4 different belly paintings for my portfolio. The mom-to-be sat on the couch while I sat on a up-turned milk crate... I was leaning in to paint. By the third hour my thighs were shaking and my back was killing me. I need to find a better position to paint in.

I have a tall directors chair I got at Pier 1 Import that I use. I can then sit in a regular chair to paint.

Is the tall chair comfortable for the moms?

I guess I should have said that I use it for face painting so I don't have to bend over. I have been using them for years when I did events for myself and I was comfortable, but I wasn't pregnant. You could always bring a pillow for their back.

That's a really long time to paint a design that simple.
As you practice, much like face painting, you will find it goes faster.
It is very beautiful, and I'm sure she loved it.
As for me, I use one of those zero gravity lounge chairs and I sit beside momma.

It is a beautiful belly. I seem to be taking longer and longer painting the bellies! It used to be a little less than an hour, but the last one was 1½ hours or so...

super pretty Smile

I only painted 1 belly so far.it took 45 minutes, but when she stood up, the baby moved and completely distorted the shape.lol.so we had to repaint, which took another half hour to wipe off the paint and carefully fix and adjust.

The model had a lounge chair and she was in the chair with her legs up. But i couldn't reach the bottom of her belly. But i found out that it's better for me that the model sits back in a lawn chair with her legs down and i sit in the front. No back pains and a bit faster then my first belly Wink

ninaschau very lovely. Love your flowers! The combination of blue and pink is very sweet! I love it!

rthling 'zero gravity lounge" Never heard of it, gonna google it Wink Thanks.
