Just started....
Last month i did a beginners workshop balloon twisting, and i'm hooked already. Really like it. But breaking the balloon is really killing my thumb. Any advice???
I did a little practicing in the last few weeks, thought i could share it with you all....
Flower...
Teddy bear...
Flower from M twist...
Body twist pratice on doves, i'd put the belly the wrong way....
Weaving balloons....
But i'm most happy and proud of my horses...

Re: Just started....
And when i'm trying to make the 6 petal flower like this one: http://www.ballonfigurensite.nl/voorbeelden/bloem1/bloem1.htm
my balloons always pop. How can I prevent this? Or is there a better way to prevent them from popping???

Re: Just started....
I love your horses too! Nice work already. Try to tie a small pair of scissors onto your apron to cut the balloons instead of snapping them. Also, if your balloons break easily, try stretching them before and after you inflate them and leave a bit more room at the end so they are not so tight when twisted. I would still do balloons if my hands didn't crack so much Its lots of fun.
Re: Just started....
Thanks Veelux, i'm gonna try it with scissors. I already leave 8 to 10 cm space at the end of the balloon but i guess it's because of the way they twist this 6 petal flower. Too bad your hands crack, . But you twitsed balloons in the past? At kids party's??? And you are also a face painter isn't it?

Re: Just started....
i agree get a pair of sissors...for the 6 petal flower you have to let some air out and it has to be soft...or you inflate your balloon with about 8 inches on the end and do each petal individual
Re: Just started....
Thanks for your advice Barbb919. Gonna try it.

Re: Just started....
Thank you Twist of Art.
I'm only making 5 petal flowers and i'm making them in a different way now. Without the M twist. I twist each petal individual. Works for me. And i have my scissors nearby.
I'm practicing with 2 and 3 balloon desings at the moment. And i'm getting better in breaking balloons. Really like it.
