Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I started off using these wipes and through the beginning there was no problem. Then when doing multiple practice sessions on my own face, I noticed my skin being very agitated and thought it was the FP, and was really bummed out...how can I be allergic to something I'm providing in my service...sucks. Then one day I used a wipe to clean my face (no paint prior) and noticed that same tingling sensation and cracking dry skin feeling. The wipes are SUPPOSED to be super sensitive skin, fragrance free and now I have to look into another option. I do not like Johnson and Jonson, the cloth doesn't rub right. I may switch to Kirkland signature brand...but mostly venting...just stinks
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Do you have Target? They have an Up and Up brand that has Sensitive Skin Hand and Face Wipes (comparable to Wet Ones Sensitive). I like them better than baby wipes because they don't leave lint all over my paint!
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I have the same problem and I've used several different brands. Basically, the tissue around the eyes and the eyes themselves are too sensitive for baby wipes. Never advice parents to use baby wipes to remove face paints. We've had a few pictures posted here from both face painters and children who have had swollen allergic eyes the next morning from them.
When I want to wash my face and I have a baby wipe (like at a hotel and don't want to stain the cloth), I'll rinse it out first and then use the soap and water to clean like a washcloth.
You'd think that since it's for babies it's okay, but there is something there that eyes don't like.

Thank you for your input, I even get scaley skin on my forehead and hands and its no fun. I have makeup removing wipes that are no problem, but now I know that it's the wipes and not the paint so I'm much happier.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Many people are allergic to aloe which is a common ingredient in lots of baby wipes.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Saw this article and thought of this post. Lots of people are developing allergies to wipes.

Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I never use baby wipes on my face, but my hands I have, and have found that I can't use ones with aloe. If I use them too often, no matter how sensitive or with/without aloe, my hands chafe. Now I use water in a small spray bottle with a small drop of sensitive skin soap mixed in and a clean paper towel - no more issues. For my face, I almost always start with a white underbase, and use a homemade soap my sis-in-law makes that takes everything off, no staining, no skin issues. Best. soap. ever.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I know someone who used to make their own wipes by cutting paper towels in half, and storing them in an empty wipes container. She used water and some other stuff (I don't know what) but it was all natural and gentle. It makes me think of using this method at festivals - just make up a container of paper towels cut in half, and spritz one with a spray bottle before using it.

Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
^^That's what I do - I get the select-a-size paper towels and spritz. Less expensive than wipes with no reaction. Clean my paints the same way. No lint.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Thanks for that article. Now I know I'm not crazy...when I read on facebook and forums about reactions, it always seems like it's the wipes (removal process) and not the paint.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I have the exact same problem with those same wipes! I use sensitive skin makeup remover wipes from CVS same cost as baby wipes and absolutely no stinging or irritation when wiping my eyes repeatedly after practice, so that's what I use "on the job" as well!
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Our youngest daughter allowed herself to be painted three times in one day mid February 2014 for my team practicing for a face painting competition. Holland's face was RAW from the Huggies Natural Care Wipes.
I have been using Norwex Face Cloths and moisturizing her face BEFORE we paint her. That little bit of info does NOT help me on the job.
I have been watering my wipes just before I use them on a long event. I use lots on my hands because I am a messy messy painter. I moisturize my hands after washing them every time.
Damned wipes.
Why did they have to go and change them.

I love Kirkland brand, the only wipes that didn't give my boys rashes and now I'm using the "leftovers" in my kit
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I have that problem to. I'm not really allergic, but my skin is VERY senitive and dries to easy. i can use my paint ONCE, and then I have to wait about 3-5 hours till I use it next time (Yes I have good colors, it is my skin with is always dry and can't handle cosmetics, sun, sand, coldness...)
The way I handle it is to use water (I never use wipes, beause I've not find any I am not allergic to) and (if needed) soap I know I could use, and the often andmore often cream my skin with salve I know I could use. I even take some of this salve before I painting, and over night I sometimes take oil or vaseline above the water based salve to keep the wetness.
It works for me.
If you are allercic you maybe could find something that makes you not react allergican (you need to experiment with different things to find anything good to you) or take an allergy pill if the reaction not is so powerful.
I hope you can handle/will learn to handle your problem and find anything you are not allergic to.

Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I use the Up&Up Sensitive Skin ones from Target as well, but really only for my hands or pinkie-oopses when I'm painting. When I used different brands, they made my hands more raw, but I haven't had that issue with the Target ones (yet).
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I used Kirkland baby wipes for years. I just bought them from Costco and they changed. They now have a horrible smell. Now I have to figure out something else to use. Why did they have to change it?

Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Yup. I gave them to my daughter because of the stink and bought Huggies which now are MI free. They work but they are all in huge packs so I have to separate them out into the ziplock holder so they fit in my kit and they tend to shred when I pull them out or pull two at a time. Sigh. I might try the Target ones next.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Oh DARN! I was about to stock up on Kirkland. Guess I'll try Target too Denise.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
It happens to me quite often...products I like change formula or are discontinued....like RIT dye stinks now.
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
Yeah RIT used to be good. Some new stuff i bought is really bad. Glad I still have a stock of old ones!!
Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?

Re: Huggies Natural Care...why am I allergic to you!?!?
I've since started using the Huggies simply clean I think, don't notice the irritation anymore maybe that the one without MI? I hate the sulphur rotten egg smell the papers get, is that what the Costco ones do now? Sadness I was hoping to get some next time I went there.
