Hey! Where is everyone?!!!! Kammy's Cafe is so dark and dreary and needs people to come and hang out!

Miss the group of gals that I feel I came into this forum about the same time with--everyone was so awesome and supportive-I feel like Kammy had a BIG part of that!

And yet it is still quiet here....
And my thoughts are still with Kammy, hope she feels she is not forgotten...

Fair winds & smooth sailing...or stormy weather, I think of you often. Whenever you "drift" over to this thread, may you find little tidbits of love & encouragement from your "painty friends"

I have more news.    Who wants more news?  Or are you all bored senseless of this whole drawn-out and torturous debacle by now??

The bad news is that I still have nerve damage in my hands and it's wrecked my painty confidence.  I'm still doing physio to relearn my muscle memory, but I frequently drop cups/glasses/paintbrushes which isn't conducive to face and body painting!  My oncologist says the feeling should slowly return to them, though they may never be the way they were before the chemo damaged them.

Now the good (GOOD GOOOOOOOOD) news.

I saw my oncologist a few days ago, and he discharged me from his care.  While they don't use these words in cases like mine, he says that's the nearest I'm ever going to get to being pronounced:

OFFICIALLY
IN
REMISSION.

They can't find a single bit of cancer in me!  Not one!  And they've looked a couple of times, trust me!

I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!



Given that at the time of my diagnosis, things looked so dire that nobody really dared hope I'd get to this point, I've basically been bouncing around like a toddler, high on life, for most of the time since I got the news.

I still need more surgery - but it's purely for reconstructive and pain-relieving purposes.  And I'll need to take anticancer medication for the next 8 years or so, as well as having regular checks.  But basically....things are definitely looking up!

Sorry guys, looks like you're stuck with me a while longer.

I know I've been really quiet here, and I'm sorry. Honestly, it's been really upsetting to me that I couldn't paint like I used to, so I think I've been subconsciously avoiding FPF.

I'm going to work on getting my hands, mojo and inspiration back.
