Kammy's café Empty Kammy's café

Post by l!zzie Thu Nov 14, 2013 3:26 pm

Well, let's make a nice Kammy café for our so, so, so much beloved Kammy!

A place she can come, for whatever she wants: laughter, screaming, venting, giggling, ranting, cuddles and hugs and to find someone for when the nights and days are long and hard to get through.

Kammy, come over here and get some rest, whenever you want, you'll be amongst friends!

.........

Are there freshly-baked warm muffins? I'm in! Laughing

Thank you for this thought, l!zzie - you're so sweet, and I appreciate the kindness. In case any FPFers don't know, I was diagnosed with cancer yesterday, and I'm waiting for tests and results so that a treatment plan can be put together. At this point, it looks like it will be chemo (to shrink the large tumour in my right breast), followed by a mastectomy, then radiotherapy and maybe hormone therapy. I'll know more in about 10 days, and I'm having a bone scan, full body scan, x-rays, ultrasounds and blood tests next week.

I really do appreciate the support. Can we have big, overstuffed, comfortable chairs in the cafe, please?

Cushions. Giant duvet. Everything big enough for all of us. TV in the corner playing Big Bang Theory. Machine in the other corner that makes really good hot chocolate.

And the sofa has to be purple, naturally! Laughing

While you wait out the 10 days, may I suggest visiting a good naturopath?

In 1983, when I was pregnant, I was told I had a growth the size of an orange, needed an abortion, hysterectomy, radiation and chemo.

Fortunately I had an awesome osteopathic Christan friend who firmly made me assess the options.

I never went back to that doctor, prayed (a lot) and delivered a 8 1/2 lb baby girl with no complications several months later. (I had 5 more children after.)

Lots of hugs from here. It's a tough place to be, (but will be so good to look back on)!

Thanks everyone. I can't afford an osteopath but I have an excellent team who are going to go through the options with me soon. I'll certainly bear it in mind.

As for Soft Kitty...right now I could do with that, as I've woken scared and can't sleep. Just don't rub my chest, OK? At least not on the biopsy-riddled right side, which looks like a failed modern art project. <3

some times when I am feeling lost and overwhelmed I just need to step back and really look at things. what I notice is that during the darkest times I can find a light. somewhere ahead. it is that light that guides me through the darkness.
let this candle be your light my friend.

Oh my, we even have great old films in the cafe??? Thank you Michael, that's such a lovely thought. I'm a very lucky person, as I'm surrounded by loving friends and positivity. I know it's going to be a hard, painful road but I'm not going to be alone on it, so I'll get there. Smile

I'm feeling a little more positive today, having spoken to the cancer nurse and a doctor this morning. We won't really know much else until after the bone scan and so on, but hopefully it's confined to my breast. In the meantime, I've been unable to sleep so I've been prescribed a very short course (i.e. a few days) of sleeping meds, which I wouldn't usually take but...well, needs must and I really do need to get some rest in order to gain some perspective.

Thanks for all the good wishes - you're all so lovely! Smile <3

I am moving my box to this room.
I will venture out occasionally for cookies, and inappropriate remarks, only to be rebuked by Kammy, and I will slink back to my box.

xoxo

See how I hijacked this warm, loving, wonderful, thread of Love and Health to Kammy, and made it all about me?

Going back to my box.
Anybody got a cookie?

Where did all the cookies go?
Why is there a bite out of my muffin??*
Why is there purple glitter EVERYWHERE???
What's that sparkly box doing in the corner, and why are there crunching noises coming from it???

Oh.  Fessalina arrived.

There goes the neighbourhood.  Laughing
