Care for practice head
Just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers. I just purchased a make-up head w/slip on face to practice on. Are there any brands that will be hard to remove? Any advice for care? By the way her name is Hannah!
Re: Care for practice head
My practice head is named "Lola", just because that's the name that was written in sharpie on the back of her neck. She's a beauty school drop out!
Anyway, I have learned the hard way NOT to use any Wolfe on her. Also some teals (yes, even Snaz) and Kryolan reds, pinks, purple etc. tend to not come off. I don't know about DFX although it's so close to wolfe I dare not use it.
The ONLY way I was able to get some of the staining off of her was to use some solvent that we use in the screen print process, and that took the paint off, (also her eyebrows....HAHA!~) I was afraid it would eat the plastic that she was made of so I've only cleaned her once with that and from now on use paradise or Snaz as they don't stain (as much) When hot water & ivory soap don't work I use a magic eraser to clean her. ( or 91% alcohol)

Re: Care for practice head
Some practice heads have a warning NOT to use wolfe paints on them at all!
My Snaz "Freeta" as Gary calls her, had snaz red, blue & green light staining.
Another FP suggested using hairspray on my heads, and let dry before painting. Wa-la! The paint came rite off!
Hope this helps on your heads ; )

I find that the next paint takes the previous of. Almost only use if for practice location of the different elements, so it is not so important. I just use dish wash detergent, and it takes DFX colours as well as long as I don't let is stay on the face. Need a name for it..
Re: Care for practice head
I found the Mr. Clean Magic Pads will clean off Wolfe Black if you do it RIGHT AFTER you do the design. If you leave it sit, it stains for good. Just from my personal experience.

oops, I meant to say I use 99% alcohol....not 91%
I have to special order it from the CVS pharmacy

The Masters hand soap works great. I wash off the paint and then scrub it with the hand soap and use a scouring pad and it comes right off...except wolfe of course. I'd stay away from using Arty cakes too. I've stained a skin that way. The good news is you can order more of the skins for around $5 at www.wimexbeauty.com. I have 4 spares after the 'arty' incident.
