Can anyone share techniques or easy eye designs. Im having trouble doing simple things, I find myself always playing it safe with face mask but want to learn new things.

Dear newbie:)
Where are you from?
If you go into your Profile above, and fill in the general location you are in, it is easier for artists in your area to notice you and include you in their Jams, where you can try new techniques, try different paints, look at different kits and set ups.

YouTube has lots of great instructional videos. I love videos by Lisa Joy Young, Denise Cold, ShawnaD, and there are so many more.

FABATV has an amazing array of instructors who face and body paint, airbrush, henna, twist balloons, etc. FABATV can be purchased for a year, or for a month to month basis.

There are some great books on face painting. I like the Wolfe Brothers Extreme Face Painting.

You can listen to all the great instructors. You can watch every single video made about face painting. You can look at books about face painting..... and you will never get any better unless you practice, practice, practice.
Practice your teardrops
from small end to big end
from big end to small end
from large size to small size

Practice your line work from thin to thick.

Practice your swirls and scrolls.

Happy Painting!

I totally agree with fess, but want to add, while you are practicing these things, VARY your SPEED...

somethings look better done faster, like a swirl or a teardrop for big to small.

some things look better slower, like a thick swirl or a thick teardrop from small to large..

vary everything while you practice-and vary the type of brush too...find what brush works best for each thing you intend to do...

and practice every chance you get-on your arm, your thigh, even on paper (though, foam paper is best, because you can reuse it and it doesn't absorb the paint....)

This is my board of quick eye designs. They are all pretty easy. Very one-stroke heavy...do you have one-stroke cakes?

This one is super quick but looks fancy! Use a one stroke/rainbow cake for the colors, then just use your black for swirls, dots, etc.

Yes, those type are easy and no matter how quick and simple it is for you, the person is always always happy with how pretty and impressive it looks. I use that type alot with tweens and up...they always love it. I let them pick the base color.

These are great ideas in these photos. What would you all advise for these sort of designs for those of us without one-stroke cakes? Should we load an inch brush with two colors and use the same idea?

I use a sponge..just load one side with one color, the other side with the other color.

for the flowers over the sponged color, I just load the round brush, then dip the tip in another color....and make flower shaped petals using tear drops.
