Girl painted on my arm
Hey there,
I just wanted to share something I made today, I surprized myself a bit with it.
I used to be super scared of drawing people and faces, at primary school I only made houses, trees, gardens, without the people in it. While the other kids where drawing mum and dad, the dog and so forth lol
I stayed that way for a long long time, I decided to practice faces this year, and overcome that idea of not being able to learn it.
Today I made one on my arm, and it turned out nice! I am so happy ^_^
I just wanted to show it to someone.
Here it is:
And here is how it happened:
Oh wait, I do not understand how to upload a second picture. So I will do that later on. I wanted to post the steps.
(I was not sure where to post a message like this. Where can you show things you have made? I hope I have chosen the right sub-forum, if not, please let me know )

Incredible!!! I love it. I'm totally scared of faces too...but you no longer have reason to be anymore, for sure!!

Re: Girl painted on my arm
Hey there,
Thanks for your replies ^_^ it makes me cheerfull this morning.
I took photo`s of some of the steps, should I post it here?
I wanted to, because in a way it is not too difficult. Because the skin already has the right color. Only shadows and light have to be painted. I liked figuring that out yesterday.
I will post them here, but let me know if I am doing something wrong. I will remove it then.

I used aquacolor brown, DFX black and white.
There was a picture before the first one that you see here, I lost it, but it showed rough lines in the shape of a face.
After that I blurred the brown lines into shadows, until it looked sort of balanced.
Then I used a very thin brush to add black shadows, starting with the outlines of the eyes, the nose etc. The iris of the eye also got darker outlines, and a pupil.
And finally I used a very small dose of white to highlight the point of the nose, the forehead, and parts of the cheeks.
And of course also the light dots in the eyes.
When it was done I also added some extra lines to show the hair structure a bit more. I was not sure if I should have done more. I could also use white to highlight the hair. But I decided not to. I liked the fact that the natural color of the skin does so much work.
Lol, and now it is the next morning, and it is washed off. Maybe I will try another one today. I am not sure if I will ever be able to do it again. Probably not in a while.

Re: Girl painted on my arm
Thanks :)to both.
I tried to make another one, which turned out to be very hard. I wiped off a lot of them, but in the end there was one that sort of came out ok. I do think though, that the first one was nicer. The first one looks sweet, this one is a bit more.. well not sure how to put it. Just not as friendly looking.
I like friendly faces more.
