HELP! Black dots of Wolfe paint on my new tank top!
Hi All,
Foolishly I wore a brand new designer aqua tank top to a gig yesterday and later saw a few tiny dots of black Wolfe paint on it. I don't know what I was thinking wearing it to the gig. Anyway, I soaked it 2 hrs in detergent and tried two different "stain removers" including one with that Oxy stuff. Nothing worked! :-(...Does anyone have any suggestion for something that might take it out? Thanks. ps - the dots didn't even spread or get fuzzy trying stuff, they're still bright black and clear. The tank top was 94% cotton, 6% spandex

I used a handmade glycerine soap on some water splash wolfe dots and it worked. You haven't dried it yet? That purity soap that Shannon talks about would probably do it. I bought the soap at whole foods.
Re: HELP! Black dots of Wolfe paint on my new tank top!
Straight ivory soap BAR rubbed into it seems to work too...
Re: HELP! Black dots of Wolfe paint on my new tank top!
Yeah, as long as you haven't washed and dried it yet... Ivory or a pure castile soap usually work. I've used Ivory right after I get the wolfe black on me and still wet, when I notice, and it comes out.
I do have a couple of my painting shirts that have permanent black stains on the cuff as I reach across my black to load my brush... unfortunately, they are still there even with pre-washing... but that is Snaz. Which, frankly, is the source of all my black stains. I always have managed to get the Wolfe out.

wow, thanks a million. I haven't dried it in a dryer yet. I only had soaked it, then I let it air dry as I didn't want to set it with the dryer before I spoke with you guys! Thanks, I'll get some of those soaps today and try and let you know what happened!!!! xoxo

I stand by Fels Naptha (bar soap) found on your grocery store laundry aisle. But I think the key to my success with it is that I not only rub it in generously (and repeat!) but I scratch and dig at the stain with my fingernail while the Fels Naptha is soaking in. It works pretty darn good and vanishes nearly every stain almost ocmpletey - even the ones that have been laundered and dried many times over.

thanks Rhonda, I'm getting all these soaps next store trip!!!! Will report back with what worked for it!

Makes sense, Rhonda. A few years ago, my grandson had white pants for little league. You KNOW those kids slid in the dirt, which was red! The team Moms swore by Fels Naptha.

Well, unfortunately, the Fels Naptha barely did a thing :-(. Next I'll buy some ivory soap!
